Unfortunately it was closed so had a quick walk around it and it is a stunning piece of history.

Absolutely disgusting attitude from the owner! And to top it off she thinks it's OK to brand the bride a "bridezilla" on the business twitter account! Poor woman asked a question and got attacked then had her wedding details posted for all to see. I hope the owner learns a lesson from this, social media is vital for your business and you've just lost so many potential customers. Good luck putting the pieces back together, if you can...
My daughter got married there last August and it was a wonderful day all round. Right from the start to finish. Any issues we had were raised directly with the team at the Castle and dealt with satisfactorily. I agree that this current issue could have been dealt with better, but I don't agree with a trial by social media. If you want to be married in a medieval setting and have your wedding meal in the Grand Hall, then you couldn't pick a more perfect setting.
Great experience at Balgonie for a friend's wedding. The staff were great, very professional and engaging, and the venture is truly unique. Highly recommend for those looking for something different and appreciate history. Sad to see the hate campaign, ignore it!
How awfully embarrassing for that poor bride to be to have her name slandered all over facebook for no reason at all. A member of staff then posted how much her debt was going to be and the fact that they had taken pity on her anyway because "she couldn't afford the deposit" The bride was then threatened several times with solicitors and just because the Castle wanted the bill settled months and months in advance of the wedding date which was way too soon for her to have the final numbers for catering. Absolutely disgusting.
