I came across this place by sheer accident. I was nearby in Digbeth searching for a coffee shop (always has to be an independent one) when this one came up. Shifted my car into D (I’m an automatic driver) and found parking not too far away. I was quite surprised to see a modern coffee shop with outdoor seating nestled within a new build. It was similar to something you would find in London.
Anyways I was greeted by a very happy barista who obliged to make me a flat white. Now, I do avoid chains and only like frequenting independents, this definitely stacks up there with one of the better tasting coffees.
Location is ideal for the many residents in the nearby blocks as well as the commercial trade who visit China town and Arcadian. The outdoor seating is charming especially when the sun is out like today.
If I was looking for any negatives then I would reluctantly state that the flat white was slightly frothy for my liking however overall a really good cup and definitely a place I will visit again and again if I am nearby.
Love the little cosy cafe - a hidden gem in Chinese Quarter. The coffee is good (definitely better than 90% of those in Bull Ring) and service is warm. The young staff Alice expressed genuine pleasure in her job and our chat was wonderful. I worked for a while there, looking out from the window and relaxing.... the time there made my day! Will keep returning ????
Discovered my new favourite local coffee shop! One of the best iced oat lattes I’ve ever had, with lovely service and great location for when you’re in china town and the gay village.
Definitely recommend and a great addition to Birminghams coffee scene, can’t wait to come back ????
I arrived a little early to collect my Too good to go bag which was definitely value for money so decided to have a hot drink while I waited for it to be prepared. I had the most amazing white chocolate latte and the service was warm and friendly.
Stumbled across this delightful small cafe by chance whilst exploring the village. A very friendly welcome, delicious hot drinks and the cream sponge, (so large we had to share it) was a fabulous treat. Highly recommended
l am a frequent customer at Ayamias and at first I had very good impressions of their drinks. However one time I tried their matcha and it was very diluted. I told the barista about this and she added more matcha but it was still not flavourful. My friend then had a matcha and she also did not like it as it tasted very diluted. Again, we told the staff however they did not replace her drink dismissed our concerns. For a £5 drink we should be able to enjoy the tatse of it. Additionally the very loud construction right next door does not help.
Update: the owner talked to us a out our concerns and replaced our drinks which I really appreciated. I had previously given 2 stars overall, but this gesture along with the other good drinks they have restored my 5 star review of this cafe.I think its really important to support local cafes and I wish this cafe the best of luck!
I love my coffee and Ayamias Coffee was recommended to us for Great cofee with a tasty variety of cakes, salad sandwiches and hot snacks in 'China Town' Birmingham, City centre. With the option to eat/drink in or take away. I ordered the Americano and, was impressed by how smooth it was, my partner got the Chai latte with almond milk and it is some of the best coffee we've had in a while. I have to visit this cafe EVERY day now for my morning fix????! Definitely a must stop if you're interested in tasting a delicious, smooth blend coffee, wow!
The staff were delightful and some of the most professional and welcoming people in Birmingham City. Also enjoyed the interaction with the friendly locals, Thank you for a pleasant visit!
Order Ayamias Latte there, it has a hint of ginger in it. Great customer service, as the barista was patient and friendly towards the customer. Will definitely go again next time! Shout out to Alice the barista there.
