Best KPortal Reviews
Good old local drinking hole. Food looked good, reasonable prices. Could have done with more variety of beer / ale.
Beautiful Sunday roast, piping hot, delicious selection of vegetables, melt in your mouth meat selection, gravy was excellent.
Great value for money.
Cracking waitress fiona, full of smiles and pleasantries.
Occassionally pop in for a hot chocolate. Staff are polite food is ok average. Quite pricey but competative on the whole.
Gets very busy at times and packed out. Good for most ages. children are welcome. Can get noisy.
Live music is played .Best to go when empty as long waits. Magical views nearby. Popular with tourists.
Relaxed atmosphere and dog friendly. Situated in an elevated position just up from the harbour. The food was priced well for Porthleven with many option being priced below a tenner. A strange menu with most options being based on a Brazilian Barbeque. I had a steak option which was just £9.00. It comes with a choice of side so I chose Brazilian Dirty beans. Didn’t look too impressive (see photo) so The order of chips was definitely needed to bolster the meal. That aside the food was good and as mentioned priced well. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful food excellently cooked!! Flavours nothing short of yummy! Def try the chips they are stunning and genuinely delicious seafood! Excellent atmosphere as well!!!
Easy to miss if you're around the harbour as The Ship and Harbour Inn are easily the most prominent pubs; however, just 3 minute walk up the hill will get you here.
We found it a lot quieter and more relaxed during the day with seating inside, outside on a raised terrace and across the road in a large car park area.
Drinks range was large with 3 cask (looks like they sometimes have 4) a range of keg (lager & cider), spirits including a vast range of Tarquins gin and soft drinks, all alongside the expected peanuts, crisps etc.
The food was excellent, fresh and incredibly good value for money, the steak, bacon, egg, cheese and olive sandwich, with chips and salad was around £7...I would have expected to pay nearer £12 in all honesty.
The fish and chips was around £12 with fresh, flakey fish and crispy batter that wasn't soaked in oils. The Jerk turkey was around £10 and was delicious.
Everyone we spoke to was welcoming and genuinely friendly, with them remembering us from previous day's which made a real impression considering how many different faces they must see each day.
Highly recommend the short walk to go here.
Friendly relaxed pub with outdoor seating and ocean views. Indoors, pub is modern, clean and warm. Outdoor seating is plentiful and allows views over historic cottages and out to sea (but not over harbour). Warm and sunlit in afternoons (unlike some places on other side of harbour). Staff are friendly & helpful. A range of drinks are available; beers are mostly chain brands but a couple of local options are available. Good coronavirus safety arrangements. Table service (ordering by mobile phone) is available.
Proper little corniche pub amazing food and the steak and ale pie is fantastic would be my local if I lived here, not enough stars to fully quote honestly
