Best KPortal Reviews

The Al Pastor is a definite must get!! They've mastered the adobo marinade that goes on the pork truly just wonderful and delicious . The service was great our server was very attentive and friendly. The rest of my order was delicious but I really came here for the Al Pastor which like I said before it's worth it and if you're on a budget I recommend coming in on Mondays when the Al Pastor taco is only 1.50 ????
Came for the 1.50 al pastor taco Monday and was not disappointed. These tacos were so delicious and packed with toppings. The number of salsas they had were impressive with my favorite being the dark red one. The pickled cauliflower side dish was strangely addictive to me and I couldn't stop snacking on them. Service was extremely friendly and attentive.
This place is the type of place you go for cheap tacos and cheap Asian food, the atmosphere is not that special, the chairs (they have wheels so be careful!) and tables covered by plastic make it a weird experience. Also the taco menu is a paper sheet under the plastic cover, I was all confused looking for the menu.
When I arrived I saw a sign in Spanish saying “if you’re eating here just go inside and grab a table” so I did that and as soon as I sat the waitress told me the table was reserved even though there was no reserve sign or anything. So we moved to the other table and the party (6) supposedly that was coming for that table never came.
After that I was expecting the service not to be good but they definitely improved, they were fast and quick to take our order.
We ordered the classic pastor tacos and asada, and also some lo mein. Honestly the tacos match the price, they’re $2.50 each and on Monday $1 each. Nothing to rave about but they’re tasty.
Overall the experience is basic but good, the food is basic but good too, don’t come with high expectations.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a restaurant that has a full Chinese American menu, and also a smaller taco menu printed on paper and stuck under plastic laminate on the table. Very interesting. Food was what you would expect for a cheap casual place, but not bad. The pastor tacos were really tasty and perfectly seasoned, especially when paired with the salsas. The Chinese was cheap take out quality, but not terrible either. Crab rangoons were freshly made and satisfying lol.
Inner decor was all over the place, with what looked like random items for sale (ie Victoria Secret body lotions, some Japanese manga action figures, candy, etc.).
Chairs were all on wheels, which was hilarious.
All in all, a solid place to go if you’re in the mood for cheap satisfying eats, with fast, attentive, and friendly service.
Chinese food was mid
6.5/10 rice
If you order the rice get it spicy with extra shrimp will definitely add more flavor and will be decent. I think it would be way better with my recommendation the shrimp in the rice was really good. I liked it.
Orange chicken was 6.3/10
Not spicy enough but wasn’t bad. I’ve had much worse at other spots. Taste like any generic orange chicken from any spot
Tacos de asada are a pass for my personal taste but try and see for yourself.
Tacos de camarón 6.6/10 they should use the ones they make there shrimp fried rice with way better taco if they did.
Tacos de pescado 6.4/10
Sauces are solid also the bright orange sauce it’s the spicy one and green is second and the dark red is mild. They complement the tacos de Al pastor.
Now let’s get to the star of the night.
This tacos taste like a Mexican Al pastor from Mexico City or GDL. Closing thing I’ve had to taste like a regular solid taco from CDMX de trompo de Al pastor. The profile taste reminds you of that kind of taco a solid 8.1/10 just for the simple reason they taste like regular taco any spot you might walk into to get a solid taco in CDMX/GDL de trompo. If you had it will remind you of it. If you haven’t try tacos in Mexico don’t give your opinion and bash this spot you have nothing to compare too. Respect the hustle of this place there doing Al pastor right compared to many Chicago spots.
I will definitely be coming back and place is small.
9 tacos , Orange chicken and fried rice all came out to around $62/$63.
Best Pastore tacos so far in Chicago I came here from a referral of a friend and always make sure to stop by if I am around the area. Definitely worth a trip if you are driving 30+ minutes away will definitely recommend.
The best tacos Al pastor in Chicago little village on Monday nights the are $1.00 dollar
If you know of a better place please comment.
Ordered shrimp fried rice & beef & broccoli. Rice had no flavor and 6 shrimp that had shells. Beef & broccoli was sweet. Not a good spot for Chinese food.
Upon picking up the order i noticed no one was eating Chinese food. Everyone was eating Mexican food. Place was packed. Maybe next time ill try tacos instead of Chinese food.
Try Mexican food instead.
