Cocktails not available although widely advertised. A few small children and a buggy,right opposite the bar at the bottom of stairs, in the thorough fair! After 9.30pm on a Saturday.

Very odd mix of underage people. A private function in the back room that seemed to have spilled into the main bar area,perhaps? trange atmosphere.
DONT BOTHER THEY LIED
Booked a party in the back room for 74 people.
Phoned to make booking and wasnt even in the diary, luckily i went down physically to check. This could have been the first disaster as 74 people were invited.
Then i was told it was FREE as using the bar. NO it cost me £80. So i was lied to & very upset as i already booked a DJ and food costing £600!!!! I would have picked another venue.
During the party random people came in from the public. One women even started my buffet!!!!
. I verbally chucked out five very drunk people throughout the evening..
Toilets were a mess. The room is clean & decorated but not for your taste if you don’t like shrovetide.
Really not happy, the only saving grace was Annabelle who was very accommodating..
Finally ive been there twice for my party and my friends made it amazing not the venue. NEVER AGAIN i will not be lied to.

Cheap drinks and a friendly welcome
Very friendly place . We had walked our dogs around town one early evening and was cold and nowhere for a coffee and natter on a winter Tuesday evening. We went in here with our dogs and had a cheery welcome and dogs had biscuits and water from friendly bar lady . 2 lovely cups of tea /coffee . Great ????
Came here on thursday to the races day. A lot of effort had been made to make the place look nice. It was a very enjoyable day you couldn't fault it. My friends & I all enjoyed it. Very well done to everyone ????????????????
As a darts player in the Hartington league. I look forward to coming here to play, the staff always make us feel very welcome. There is an excellent choice of ales and a good buffet is always put out. A nice place overall
Was a sad occasion, attended here for a wake. The bar, seating and cafe area were all clean, a bit worn out looking, but comfy and relaxing. The toilets were rather grim, very old and could do with updating. An ok place to go, guess it is more about the event and the atmosphere than the total look of the place. Nightmare to find somewhere to park if coming by car in the daytime.
