Arrived to the ER on a Sunday evening around 630PM. After about an hour wait in the waiting room, I was placed in a pt. room in a quiet area that was almost empty of employees and other patients. I was immediately hooked up for vitals, an EKG and lab work were all completed in timely matter. I think the nurse forgot about me as the next time I saw them it was almost midnight. Blood work required additional testing that was not available at this time. I was discharged home around 1230 AM and asked to return at 730AM for the additional test. The additional test was completed, the ER doc went over them results and I was discharged home again. I received a bill in the mail where I was charged a healthy $$ ER visit for both days. Not sure I agree with being charged for an ER room for the second day when it was the hospital who did not provide full 24 hour services. Had someone been available the night of my initial visit, I would not have needed to return the next morning. I almost question if this is legal?
Came into the ER with appendix pain. Was immediately taken to the back. They gave me medicine for the pain almost immediately which bought me time to relax while awaiting the CT scan and results. I was admitted within 2 hours and emergency surgery scheduled for the next day. Once admitted the nurses and techs were amazing. They kept me comfortable until I was able to go in for surgery the next day. The pre Op team and surgical staff were all very professional and walked me through the procedure every step of the way. After the surgery I was taken back to my room and my nurse didn’t leave until she knew that I was comfy and could get some rest. This will be my go to hospital any time I ever have an issue. The entire process was great.
I can’t say enough good things about the people that helped care for me during my last hospital stay. They were very professional and supportive and down right wonderful. What a blessing they were to me. It was like having best friends and family members that love me taking care of me. Thank you Dr Dorsey, Jessica and all the great Staff on floor 4!! God bless you all! Mrs Coffman in 406.
This place was amazing from first contact to last! My adult son was in triage 10 minutes after walking in the door. Every person who arrived after he was taken back received the same treatment, some being called back even as they were getting their hospital bracelets put on! EVERY person we encountered while there treated us with kindness and concern. They were beyond thorough and arrived at the cause of my son's agony, providing pain relief while he waited for tests and results. I simply couldn't recommend them more highly!
Absolutely the worst place to bring a loved one for care. I give this place negative stars!! Rushed my husband to this ER on 2/4/24 @ 5:15 am in severe pain. There was no one else in the waiting room so we were taken back pretty quick. After that, the care my husband received I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. None of the staff we saw in the 5 hours we were there seemed to care about people, and one nurse (Amanda) in particular was rude as hell. My husband was sent home worse then when I brought him in for care. This way of treating people is unacceptable.
Went to the neurology department for a cat scan. Hooked me up to IV and started the dye. It was very painful! The technician said she put the dye in my arm not in my veins. She stopped immediately and tryed to squeeze the dye out of my arm! Then reinfected the dye in my veins. When she finished the test she couldn’t find an ice pack or heating pad! Sent me home and told me to keep ice on it! It took 3 day’s for the swelling to go down. Waited for the survey from Achension and never recovered one!!!!!
We took my 19-year-old perfectly healthy daughter to the ER because she had been having a consistently high heart rate for several hours and was having chest pressure, not necessarily pain. The staff was very rude, not attentive, and just accused her of taking adderall since she’s in college and that’s what “a lot of college kids do”. They ran labs on her and none of those showed any substances in her system. We were told to have her follow up with her doctor. A few days later, she just went to the doctor, who sent her straight to the ER (a more competent one), concerned she’s having a heart attack. Clearly the Ascension ER is not capable of handling patients with medical emergencies and my family is praying my daughter is OK and makes a healthy recovery. I’m only leaving this review because I don’t want anyone else to trust this facility with the care of their family member.
I'd give negative stars if I could. Get taken there in an ambulance, since something was going on and I couldn't walk. Sitting there for hours just for them to say. "No insurance? Well there's nothing we can do. Here is some ibuprofen. Good luck." Over a month later and still not walking. Might even have a proper lawsuit.
