When it comes to local mom and pop diners, there’s no place like Artie’s. They’ve been part of Kokomo for more than 80 years! The food is fresh, delicious, and served surprisingly fast. The owners are so friendly and hardworking. I had the hand breaded tenderloin and fries. There were several tempting daily specials to choose from as well, but when you’re in the mood for an Indiana hand breaded tenderloin nothing else will do. The street parking is limited, but there’s usually plenty of parking in the lot north of the building.
Old school dive diner with patina that serves up a limited menu specializing in an Indiana favorite -- the breaded pork tenderloin. I stopped in while in Kokomo for business and had to see the place because my Grandfather owned a diner on that block until the early 60's. The cook was also my waitress and was sweet as can be and indulged me in stories about the history. It's worth a visit for the fries and to feel like you've stepped back in time. The booths are original from the era but are a snug fit if you're tall. Definitely worth a visit.
Old diner on the corner of a side street. It's a great little spot for breakfast and lunch, been here since 1938 so something is working right.
For me everything was working just right. Hometown small 20 or 30 people max. Tiny menu for breakfast or lunch. Small menu is the trademark of a awesome place. That way they focus on making good food for a few things instead of many mediocre items. We had the tenderloin and fries. Made fresh still less than 5 minutes and we had our food. Crispy and tender pork loin, great sandwich. Prices are fantastic, $14 for 2 sandwiches and 2 fries and a can of soda.
Really enjoyed the owner and wife, super friendly and you could tell they liked what they were doing and had a lot of regulars.
Will be back next time we come through!
Arties is absolutely a Kokomo staple. Super cute little diner! My go to is always a breaded tenderloin & fries. The owner Dan is always super friendly! You won’t regret supporting this local business.
The owners are Very Friendly and Very Courteous to everyone Excellent Service and Excellent Food and Prices. I recommend it to everyone I know. Dan and Robin are Two friends I've known for a long time and they Greet Everyone that comes in there
This is a no frills corner cafe. 7 booths and 3 barstools. I had the breaded tenderloin and it was amazing. The atmosphere is slow paced, but the food came out quick and proper temperature. This was the most relaxing lunch I’ve had in a long time.
Simply unbelievably good food! Everything is handmade and the quality is so good. It’s a quaint little diner and the staff is so friendly.
They might be known for their tenderloins, but I think their cheeseburgers are their best kept secret. Honestly my favorite burger ever.
Very old Fashioned. Atmosphere is here. Danny very careful gentleman. Definitely place to go!
