Best KPortal Reviews

Great place for authentic Indian cuisine. Spacious and clean and easy to find even if you are just driving through the state.
What lets this place down is the poor service. As a group of 8, we almost felt unwelcome and had to literally beg for one glass of hot water. When the staff tells you we don’t have hot water in a place you cook hot food- that’s something!
It’s service like these that makes you think twice if you want to even leave a tip. We did eventually coz the food was great. If the management / ownership of the place is listening, you have some serious work to do to train your staff. The chef has to be really good coz the dishes were on point- both the veg and non veg options. So don’t let poor service take this beautiful place down.
The food was delicious! I asked for medium heat and my eyes were watering by the second bite! The chairs, tables, and dishes are all in need of upgrades. They do look worn, but I definitely enjoyed the experience!
I’m very surprised by some of the negative reviews on here. I can’t say I know authentic Indian food well, but this is most definitely one of the better tasting Indian options in Indianapolis. And the complaints about the pricing were especially surprising…$15 for a plate of quality chicken and rice is pretty hard to beat when eating downtown unless you’re looking for bar food or fast food haha. And the added 18% gratuity is less than the average 20% that most people tip, so that doesn’t bother me at all. Even when service is horrendous, the lowest I ever tip is 15% and our service was perfectly fine here. I applaud the cuisine and service and will be back anytime I’m craving Indian food downtown.
"AROMA is a culinary gem! The chef's mastery was evident in the delectable potato and onion kulcha, flavorful pindi chole, and the delightful orange pudding. An explosion of authentic Indian flavors!
My only suggestion would be to consider slightly increasing portion sizes for an even more satisfying experience. Additionally, considering the cuisine, it would be great to replace fork and knife with spoons for a more authentic experience. Overall, A must-visit for those seeking a blend of culinary excellence and warm hospitality."
"Aroma on Virginia in Indianapolis offers a culinary experience that tantalizes the taste buds and exceeds expectations. From the moment you step in, the inviting ambiance sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu boasts an array of delights, but the shrimp and butter chicken steal the show.
The shrimp is a succulent masterpiece, perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, each bite bursting with flavor. Paired with aromatic spices and a creamy sauce, it's a dish that leaves a lasting impression.
Equally impressive is the butter chicken, a rich and indulgent dish that showcases the chef's expertise. Tender chicken bathed in a luscious sauce, infused with a symphony of spices, creates a harmony of flavors that dance on the palate.
Beyond the culinary delights, the service at Aroma on Virginia is impeccable. Attentive staff cater to every need, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience from start to finish.
For those seeking a culinary journey through Indian cuisine, Aroma on Virginia is a must-visit destination in Indianapolis. Prepare to be delighted by the exquisite flavors and impeccable service that define this gem of a restaurant."
Review is based on-
1. Paneer tikka
2. Butter Naan
3. Spicy Naan
4. Matar paneer
Takeout is terrible. I had requested the takeout to be delivered at 09:50. It was delivered on time at 10:00. I sat down to eat the food at 10:20, and the Naans had become super hard. Clearly, the food was cooked over an hour ago.
Butter Naan had no butter on it.
Spicy Naan is just Naan with flakes. Not at all recommended.
Paneer tikka was not marinated properly. There was a distinct flavor of oil on it.
Matar paneer, even on requesting for "spicy," was bland.
Especially considering the price, I would not recommend the place.
My very first time trying Indian authentic food and I love it. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and I would love for guys to go eat and support this restaurant as they are great at providing authenticity. The service was great as the food. A recommendation is to know your taste bud and how much spicy you can handle. The butter chicken tastes delicious. Their lamb were cook well and amazing to taste. I will definitely be going back. Don’t worry, you wouldn’t be paying for the rice because it is free but limited.
Our go to Indian restaurant in downtown! The food and overall service is great too.
Food: Have tried quite a few dishes from their menu and all of them have been great. Our favourites from appetiser is paneer cheese balls, entree would be butter chicken and paneer tikka masala with butter garlic naan
Service: Super courteous and friendly staff! The food comes in quickly and quite fresh.
Ambience: Nice setup and really lovely ambience.
