Given the number of positive reviews and the 4.3 star rating, we thought we’d give it a whirl. Sad to say we won’t be back. We’ve had worse, but there was nothing that blew our socks off to bring us back. The tortillas were good, but the carne asada did not have any flavor. The beans are terrible; very chunky, light-colored, and no flavor. The rolled tacos were ok. Carne asada fries are a good portion but useless if the meat has zero flavor. Everything slightly below mediocre. Meh.
Still one of the best places to get fast Mexican food in the IB area. Pollo Asado burritos are the bomb. ???? So many taco shops open and close all the time but Armando's still puts them all to shame‼️???? ???? ???? ......
Been my favorite mexican restaurant for years. Also is one of the only restaurants of it's kind to be open 24/7. Love it. Highly recommend.
I give 1 star over all due to the service of 2 ladies They don't answer the phone and or pick it up and hang it up right away or just leave it off the hook. 2nd the same ladies when placing order over the phone they rush you like kinda tell you call back when ready. Overall the food is good but those ladies need to go if you want your customers to come back
Small, hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Visited on a Friday around 2pm. It was mostly empty I ordered two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Food came out quick and was ok, not the greatest but not bad. The music they had playing was loud and from where I sat, you can hear someone with a cleaver just hitting over and over and over. I'm guessing the music was loud enough to be heard over the cutting/cleavering because both were extremely loud.
I like that they give you a big thing of salsa (both red and green) when you dine in.
Armando's has been at the same location across from the Palm Avenue trolley for over 27 years. The food is AMAZING. I love the chicken enchiladas and the refried beans.
The pollo asada.. Meh..But all it needed Was Hot sauce which they had but not HOT SAUCE(FRANKS). I'M going back for the Carne Asada.. I might update
Its the best taco shop all around.
