It is a miss overall. Without comparing food with Argentine dishes, which they claimed that their food is, the food is not good. Obviously re heated meat was our parrillada. Service is terrible as you walk in and no one is there to greet you or seat you. You need to find your own seat, your own drinks. You need to keep asking people to come and take our order. We were a party of 4 and we got utensils only for 2. No glasses were offered. They brought the food but we did not have plates. Building is nice. Totally a miss as I believe that with ownership that knows how to run a restaurant, this place has potential.
We decided to give this place a try after talking about Argentina food for a good month or so. We came here on March 13th. I will honestly say, when we first walked in, I was skeptical because it looked like a hole in the wall, but it was changed when the gentleman greeted us with a warm welcome, and the madam cleaned off our table. We decided to try the beef empanda and the one with blue cheese in it (I can't remember the name). We also got two different sandwiches: one with beef tenderloin and egg, the other with chimchurri and sausage. Everything was very good, and you can tell everything was home made. The fries were very crispy and baked, and I actually liked it as much as a fried French fry. The empandas were very good and tasted fresh. I was very impressed with this little place. I'll have to go back sometime and try something else.
We’ve been waiting for this place to re-open to try their empanadas. We finally got to try them today and bought a dozen. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. They were flat and really greasy with not much flavor. Not puffy or flaky. Not authentic Argentine empanadas. Bummer!
We had the smoked ham and pineapple with chimichurri. The olives did not overpower the taste of the ham or pineapple. Very good starter. Choripan sandwich with a mild flavor medium grind sausage very tender with a homemade yeasty bread and the great chimichurri, house chicken Milanesa - the chicken was tender with ooey gooey mozzarella cheese and tomato with two sunny side eggs, the chicken tomato egg and mozzarella are amazing together. Added a beef empanada with seasoned perfect ground beef, and veggie empanada with spinach and cheese. My favorite was the melt in your mouth beef empanada, but a must try for the veggie one with cheese and white sauce.
The gentleman that served us and cooked our food is friendly and made you feel like you were sitting in his kitchen. We felt that with the singing while he was cooking.
We will be back. This is a must try restaurant. You will walk away with a full stomach and asking where has this been all your life. Almost forgot the homemade bread side, this was a taste of when your gma made homemade bread at home. Crunchy top with a tender inside. Yummmm
The service here is great and the food delicious. Some of the best empanadas in Utah. However, the last few times we have tried to go it has be closed during normal business hours. They do have a new location down the street but it looks like it is under construction. I hope they have not closed for good. ????
The food is amazing. The best empanadas you will find in Ut, and the fugazzetta is an amazing! Anytime we are passing through we are stopping. All the food is from scratch and the service is friendly.
Very authentic local and hole in the way type of place. Went here for lunch on a weekday and the wait was very long (an hour). Maybe calling in would be better because they seem to be short staffed. The empanadas were delicious. The beef tongue appetizer is okay.
Best empenadas I've ever had. The owner was very nice and hospitable.
I'll be back to try that gnocchi.
