What an absolutely delightful place and incredible hosts. We adored our stay at Ardblair, in no small part due to Conny and René. We were given a warm welcome upon check-in, shown to our beautiful room (the Pink Room), and given excellent advice about local spots. We stayed 2 nights here and they flew by. Conny prepared a wonderful vegan breakfast for us each morning, and René provided the entertainment (his wonderful stories!). We were thankful for our stay and glad to take their advice, which enhanced our visit to Scotland in no small measure. I hope to visit again someday, it was truly a delight.
My friend and I had a one night's stay at the Ardblair at the end of a 10 day walk across Scotland from east to west. Situated up on hill above Fort William the views are just beautiful, especially from the gold room where I had the good fortune of staying. The room was very comfortable and I spent a lot of time admiring the view out the window. It is walking distance to the center of town and to the train/bus station. Rene and Connie are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The traditional breakfast was delicious. Thank you for sharing.
I was excited to stay at this B&B as all the reviews were very positive. Our experience was not the best. There are better places to stay in Fort William for the same price. The room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was a disaster. The owner is friendly only from 3pm (check in) to 10am (check out). If you need any help from them a little before check in time or after check out time, you are on your own. I was doing the West Highland Way and hurt my knee the day before the hike to Fort William. I arrived in Fort William by bus and went to the B&B at 2pm (one hour before check in). I mentioned to the owner that my knee was hurt and asked if I could wait at the front porch until it was time for the check in. He said: ‘No, there is no room for you. Go to the pub and come back later’. Unfortunately we rely on reviews when we are visiting the city for the first time and choosing a place to stay. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Ardblair is at the top of a hill overlooking Fort William and the Loch. Lovely garden. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated with a view to the lake. The bathroom was huge with a luxurious tub (no shower.) Breakfast was delicious and choices were available.
We were lucky enough to stay in the Golden Room at Ardblair on the final night of our West Highland Way walk and it was just perfect. The view was amazing and accommodation just perfect. Breakfast was just right and beautifully prepared. Rene was a great host and allowed us to park our car for the duration of our walk, which really helped. The carafe of whisky in the room was the icing on the cake. Highly recommended.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Golden Room for two nights. It was beautiful, wonderful views from the room and the owners were lovely. Thank you Conny for the lovely breakfasts and thank you Rene for being our tour guide to Scotland. After some suggestions we took a day trip to the Isle of Skye and then went off to Glasgow on our way home we did go on the Mural walk. We will hopefully see you in Fort William again!
We enjoyed the Indian Tandoori Spice and the Grog and Gruel pub both a short walk away!
I spent two nights here and loved it. The room was very charming and the hosts friendly and hospitable. You have to take some stairs to get to Main Street, but there not bad.
We stayed at the Ardblair BnB after hiking the West Highland Way and it was fantastic. We were able to get an upgrade to the Golden Room and we really enjoyed taking a bath in the bathtub :-). The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast was nice, too. We totally recommend Ardblair!
