Went for Sunday lunch, lovely cosy atmosphere, wonderful lounge/sitting room with roaring fire. Food was fabulous and very reasonable £14 for 2 courses though drinks were a little pricey. Staff friendly without being intrusive. Good idea to book. Will be returning. :-)
Lovely place! Stopped for lunch but ended up staying for the night. A perfect place if you're out visiting distilleries in the area. The food was good, the atmosphere warm and welcoming and I highly recommend you to make this one of your stops.
The food is over the top fantastic the curried mussels and the twice backed soufflé will have me making a return trip to Scotland. Alan and Jane and their entire staff are fantastic hosts and made are stay very memorable, I can't say enough good things about the Archiestown Hotel wow what a pleasant surprise.
Fabulous experience with friendly and attentive staff and outstanding food, I had the ultimate luxury with Cullen Skink, Beef and Venison Meatballs and Lemon and Whisky cheesecake accompanied by an outstanding White Burgundy and a dram of something local.
I would more than happily recommend this as a restaurant (didn't stay here) and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
My friend and I were at a workshop at Knockando Woollen Mill one day but their café was closed for the season. We were very short of time to start the workshop but the proprietors of Archiestown Hotel couldn't have given us a bigger welcome after we had explained and we were served a lovely platter of salad and sandwiches each, along with a pot of the most delicious coffee. We cannot stress how welcoming and accommodating they were and would highly recommend popping in past. Hopefully we shall return with more time to enjoy a proper lunch.
Good food, wonderfull homely common room with a fireplace. Great selection of the best Scottish Whisky's and Laphroaig.
Jane & Allen (Sybil and Basil) where from the 1st day very kind and we felt right at home. We will come back. BBC from the Netherlands
Without doubt the finest hotel I have stayed in during all my visits to Scotland. Friendly beyond belief, very affordable, food to die for and, I'll certainly make a point of going back. Take my advice "DON'T MISS IT". Richard
8 stars if I could! Lovely little hotel, made all the more special by the owners who are friendly, funny and engaging! Food was excellent and enjoyed a dram or two in the sitting room and garden.
