Tiny inside, nothing fancy but decent food. Had the mini breakfast special with an upgrade from regular pancakes to blueberry pancakes. Good portions but upcharges were not communicated. There is a sign outside that says $1 will be added to all meals per person…understood. But after upgrading regular pancakes to blueberry and then regular sausage to turkey sausage caused our meal prices to double. I wouldn’t be complaining if I had at least known. At first we thought wow what a cheap breakfast but at the end not so much.
Really really delicious food. Gyro omelette was amazing they didn’t charge extra for the vegetables. Grilled gyro Chicken was marinated and delicious. They had turkey sausage available too. The bill was only $22.
You won't find gourmet coffee, and the bread isn't organic multigrain or anything else special, but it is good. With only two people running the establishment you'll find that the food is wholesome. This working class diner is great, it's a type of place that you won't find too often and is overlooked and one of the few gems on 8 Mile! Their hash browns are out of this world!
Good food good service dod not know about upcharges foe food was not happy with that
I've gone there for over 30 years at this point. I might be a bit biased but it, along with Lafayette Coney island, and Sherwood Coney island, are my favorite in motor City. The thing that is always separated Archie's are their omelets, pancakes, and French toast. It's like the omelets are folded over twice and for whatever reason has just become my favorite omelet of all the places I go to.
This was my first time eating here and I must say I am very disgusted to walk in and see the waitress/Cashier eating at the front counter with her bare hands meaning she wasn’t eating something that required silverware and had the nerve to reach into the bag of bread with her bare hands also and put my toast in the toaster. I didn’t say anything at the moment because I didn’t want any confrontation, and I was also very hungry and was doing laundry so this was the closest option. But anyways she proceeded to take the toast out of the toaster with her bare hands again and cut my toast while holding the toast with her bare hands meanwhile in the middle of all of this she still eating her sandwich or whatever with her bare hands and I’m pretty sure I seen her lick her fingers maybe once or twice she’s also walking around handling other customers dirty dishes and and serving drinks and food and I never seen her once in the 10 minutes that I stood there wash her hands. I definitely will never eat here again I am so disgusted. I’ll just make my own toast at home I threw that one in the trash. I will say though the omelette and hashbrowns that I had were very delicious and the cook was very clean I saw him straightening up his area and changing out his towels not standing there eating a sandwich with his bare hands handling customers food.
The best Gyro omelette I’ve had in the longest time! It beats my fave from Senate Coney Island and less$ so win win! I have driven past this place for several years and had no idea it was there. It’s so tiny but yet so full of personality. I walked in on a early Friday morning, on my way to work, and what I’m going to assume were regulars, were hanging out catching up. They were very engaging, included me in the conversation???????????? the Archie omelet, - unlike other places that fold the items into the egg yolk they actually fill this up. Every bite had a bite of Gyro, onion, feta and egg-hash browns. Also loved yummy hash browns w/grilled onions - tasty and so filling- Found my new breakfast place ( and so much closer ) ????
Just found this place and I’ve been missing out! Great food, great customer service! Love this place.
