Not only did I have to endure the agony of rude staff and an excruciating 24-hour wait in a chair at the A&E service, but to top it all off, after finally getting a scan, I was informed that there was something on my brain. The lack of care and urgency displayed by the staff in addressing my condition was utterly disgraceful. This experience has left me not only physically unwell but emotionally scarred.
In addition to the abysmal treatment I received at the A&E service, I was also subjected to blatant racism from some staff members. It's unacceptable that in this day and age, people still harbor such prejudiced views and feel justified in expressing them. Being made to feel inferior and unwelcome only compounded the already dire situation I was in.
Avoid this place like the plague.
My partner is Type 1 diabetic and their insulin pen broke, we just moved that day, they kept ask why they need needles and treated them like a junkie by the Triage Nurse even though they checked their blood sugar and it was clearly high!
My partner never asked for any needles, all we came for was to get an insulin pen since it was 19:30 in the evening... The Triage Nurse felt highly unprofessional, the receptionist were amazing though! Fast, helpful and super polite!
The staff there is not very well trained because I have an urgent case of spinal pain, the first time they took me to the major, then they changed me to the minor ... seriously, there were people who seemed to have nothing, the whole me I barely move to walk 2 meters and they thought I had to go tominors after waiting 2 hours for major ed
This place is a disgrace. When a drug addic is priority over 34 week pregnant woman that's been waiting 5 hours you know the place is a joke.
Very good staff good friendly would not go all of time. Have 2 have something wrong with my body
Just returned from Antrim hospital, never before had I been treated in such an appalling manner.
My asthma is very severe and I have several allergies, that cause a severe allergic reaction.
I attended this evening after being advised to go by my GP.
I had a reaction to perfume 8 weeks ago. I have been a prisoner in my own home for the last 8 weeks. I rarely go out as I react to nearly everything.
I attended Antrim hospital as I was having chest pains this evening, I approached the reception desk, told the receptionist I have severe asthma, and would like to sit out in the car park, receptionist said no we don't allow that, I explained have I have no control over the asthma and I need to be kept away from perfume.
I got called in by 3 nurses tri-aging, I told them I had severe asthma and I needed to be kept away from perfume, they took no notice. I was called for an ecg, where the nurse shouted at me put my hand down, I said that I was struggling to breathe, she told me to get a grip.
I went to the desk and told the man at the desk what happenedand said that i was going home as I have PTSD and would not allow myself to be bullied , he burst out laughing.
Sorry the NHS staff can abuse us anyway they like but we have no recourse.
Appalling treatment of people, especially the elderly. A 87 year old with chest pains have to wait nearly 12 hours. Admitting 1 person into the ward every 1 hour and 20 mins. Disgusting, different if it was one of their own as I seen a nurse getting treatment before the rest of us after coming in behind us. Unreal!!!
My daughter had the misfortune of having to attend last night. The lack of care and compassion disgusts me that was the nurses the Dr on the other hand showed care and compassion. My daughter was lying on the floor vomiting in extreme pain. The drip
machine kept buzzing saying there was an air bubble they just turned it off.needless to say we will be taking this morning much further.
No one treats my daughter like that never! My daughter is double vaccinated she didnt ask to get Covid.I will not be fobbed off been there done that!
