Annie been braiding my hair for over 15 years and when I say her service is the best that’s what I mean!!! Don’t let these negative people lie to yall
I've known Annie for nearly 20 years and have been a regular and loyal customer of hers. Annie has done an awesome job taking care of my hair, and has never dissapointed with any braid style I have gotten for all these years. Do not buy into the negative reviews; Annie provides exceptional customer service, and if I could, I'd give her business 10 stars!
I had to leave almost as soon as she started my hair. She was extremely rough. It felt like she was pulling my hair out each time she combed through my hair. The first and only braid I allowed her to do was too tight. I couldn’t even sit there and let her continue to treat my hair this way. The pain was unbearable and she had just gotten started. My head feels tender to touch and this is the day after. Never ever again.
I'm not to sure what experience others have been having, but I have been going to Annie for 11 years. She is the only one I allow to do my hair because she understands me and when I ask for something specifically she does just that. She is fast and her prices are reasonable. I have never experienced poor customer service as everyone greets when you walk through the door. Sometimes, yes her prices may change if you describe what you want over the phone, because some people need a visible picture to see all the details.
Nice prices... the staff is a different story. The lady who did my hair was so rude. She didn’t care about my comfortability ... i told her multiple times that she was hurting me and she ignored it every time. It’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve got my hair done and i noticed in the front that she used a VERY small amount of my hair in the front (which could have been 1 braid but was forced to be 2) and it started pulling because of how thin the hair was in the area and i didn’t want my hair to fall out... so i went back to ask them to just re-braid the 2 as one, the owner said to come back the next day .... so i wake to take the braids out and get it fixed and the one thing i was trying to prevent happens... after i took the braid out, the thin piece of hair fell from my scalp. Although it was a small amount I’m sure that once i silk press my hair it will be noticeable. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place EVER.
The owner is very nice. I've been getting my hair done here for years. Not only does she do my braids she has been doing my mother hair as well for years. Prices are great. Always happy with the end results.
I been coming here for years, Fahtu use to do really quality hair for good prices now the quality has gone way down and prices went up! I will have to find someone else
I called Annie at 6pm 11/2/2013 to set my appointment and to get a quote. She quoted me $170 for long Solange braids down to my butt. I was also informed that she only accepted cash as a form of payment. Fast forward to this morning 11/3/2013, I arrived at 9am and waited 15 minutes for Annie because she was out when she told me she was in the shop. I didn't mind waiting because I didn't live far anyway. The shop looked horrible. It was untidy and outdated. I won't even mention the bathroom.
When Annie arrived, I showed her a photo of what I wanted and even brought a braid that I had from the last install and explained thoroughly what I wanted. All of sudden her price went from $170 to $190. Mind you, I never paid that much for the same style before and the only reason I came to Annie is because my regular shop switched locations and I have limited transportation. Annie's was convenient and rumored to be less pricey. I told Annie how much I paid before and threatened to walk out and she gave in.
When she started on my hair I noticed she was moving rather quickly so I questioned her and she claimed to be "really" fast so I asked to look in a mirror just to make sure and noticed she was making my parts big with thick braids. I told Annie that I was not seeking the poetic justice braided look and asked if she could make my parts smaller with less hair. SHE KEPT DOING WHAT SHE WANTED ANYWAY. I told her that I was leaving because I had to remind her twice to do my hair the way I wanted. Annie got angry and demanded I pay her $180 for a half done head anyway and when I told her I wasn't paying for a half done head, either she start over or I take my hair out and leave and she STILL tried to demand me to pay her, stepping in my way trying to block the door like I was going to walk out. The nerve of her. She also told me I was wasting her time when I was the only head being done at the time. She could've started over because there wasn't much in. I wasn't about argue with her loud unprofessional tacky self so I took my hair down and left.
Annie was very rude, unprofessional and her customer service skills are horrible. The nerve of her when her shop is a run down hole in the wall. She also has an F rating on the BBB which I wish I could've seen earlier before I wasted my time. Please stay away. Go somewhere else if you can.
