Hit or miss? EXTREME MISS took us 10 minutes to get our drinks after being sat. The corned beef hash USED to be made in house and WAS excellent. It came out in a undercooked pile that looked like vomit and tasted like hormel. I asked our server if they changed it and if it was canned. She said it was made in house. That was definitely canned. She offered to recook it crispier. It did not help it at all.the meal was 13.50. I asked for crispy potatoes. They were not crispy and still raw. So I wonder if they thought by crispy I wanted raw. I ate the toast and one egg. They took 6.50 off the bill. I paid $7 for a peice of toast and an egg. We will not be back and I will no longer say Anita's has the best corned beef. If its canned just say its canned so I can order something else. I'm annoyed and hungry but left feeling sick to my stomach. Utter disappointment.
Edit** I forgot to say that the server was nice.
2nd edit after owner response: $6.50 was taken off the bill. I was never asked if I would like something else. I've had the corned beef before. This is not the same. I'm sorry you felt offended, but I'd be embarrassed to serve that. The other dishes served around me looked pretty good. The corned beef should've been thrown out before serving. Anitas is very hit or miss. Ive had the best corned beef hash there in the past. It's not the same. So I stopped at the dollar general and grabbed a $1 can of hormel and opened it. It was so weird that it looked identical. Strange coincidence. Sorry if I'm wrong. I definitely will not recommend this dish.
Okay, let's just get this out of the way. The Breakfast sandwich is the bomb! Those fried green tomatoes set it over the top and this place is wonderfully staffed with smiles and happiness. You will enjoy everything about Anita's. Great food, wonderful staff and really cool atmosphere. 5 stars for everything!
We have been enjoying Anita's Restaurant for over a decade, now. The food is always so fresh and tasty - with generous portions, which means a second meal the next day. Prices are still reasonable in today's crazy restaurant scene. My mom enjoyed the tuna melt today (I think it's the best in the area) and the extraordinary french fries (crispy on the outside and tender on the inside). My husband had one of the specials - the Crunchy Chicken sandwich, marinated until tender in buttermilk and pickle juice (really? but it works beautifully) and served with a special mustard and home made potato chips. I LOVED my breakfast burrito with creamy grits on the side. Chelsea took great care of us, as always. Camryn S., Kylie, and Lori made a point to check in and share a smile. The new owner, Jason, is offering tasty specials (like the Crunchy Chicken Sandwich), that surprise and delight, as they transition into their new identity. Still delicious - plus new things to try for breakfast or lunch. Yum.
We have been enjoying Anita's for over a decade. Always good food and great atmosphere. Unfortunately it is under new ownership, and he definitely bit off more than he can chew. Let's hope and pray that he gets it together soon, so we don't lose another great local establishment. I will try again in a few months but definitely wouldn't recommend right now
We had our breakfast at Anita’s before the trip home to Michigan, Jamie was our waitress she was awesome! Food was exactly what I expected, excellent!!! Crunchy French toast was amazing!
Mother’s Day brunch! Had the new tacos and it was amazing! Can’t beat to huge Mimosa for five bucks!!
Casual fun restaurant with good prices and selection of food.
One of our party ordered BLT and turkey, which came out as a club (3 bread slices). The rest of us ordered a daily special, spinach pie with Greek salad. The salads were decent portion. The spinach pie was not to my taste at all. They were all served sort of warm, but not hot. I am used to them being baked, with flaky and crunchy phyllo. These tasted more like dumplings that had been thrown on a griddle to brown, and to me, they were wet.
I would go back and try their breakfast and sandwiches but most likely will not try any specials. They do have gluten free bread as an option, which is nice.
Went for dinner. I was surprised to see white tablecloths on the tables. Dinner is now fine dining. We ordered the chicken kabobs with grilled vegetables and Short Rib. Both were delicious! Plenty of food on the plate. The waitress served the table bread and a couple of dips. Worth every penny. I highly recommend giving Anita's a try for dinner.
