Didn't fancy the queue at the other place and this was recommended by a local. Perfectly cooked fish, nice chips and great curry sauce. Service could be a bit more friendly, the request for extra forks felt like we'd asked them to go catch the fish. Still, a lovely portion of fish and chips!
We grabbed some lunch here on a very quiet December Saturday in Whitby. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and we were served quickly. There is ample seating inside and toilet facilities. We were given a beeper to let us know when our food was ready to be collected from the counter, which was an interesting idea. We paid £7.95 for a small cod and chips, and the food was nice, but the batter was a little tasteless.
We both had regular cod and chips. Both meals were really delicious, beautiful fish and lovely chips. The place wasn't busy but it is off-season so it isn't a surprise. It is a dog friendly place but you have to sit in the front and with open doors could be quite cold but we weren't bothered about that.
We called in today for fish n chips. I can not recommend this place enough. Only waited the time to fry the fish, maybe 10 mins..chips are real and cooked to perfection. Loads of batter on the fish l, but no taste from the oil, so it's replaced often. Really big portions , with a slice of lemon on top, which set the whole taste experience off. Best in Whitby by a mile. Will eat in next time so we can have a cup of tea and some mushy peas. The girl serving was lovely.

Popped in today with our little Dog. Yes it's Dog friendly. But only downstairs in the area near the counter near the door. Haddock and Chips were delicious ????????????. Very filling. Ended up taking some of it home because it was so big that I struggled to eat it and I don't like wasting food. So I will save it for later on. Poor girls were rushed off their feet. Got to give them credit because they did a brilliant job and only 2 of them there doing everything. A must visit if you are ever in Whitby... And you get a Loyalty Card near where you order your food. Read the card for details please...
Nice fish n chips, excellent curry sauce. Never been to a chippy before with a sign on the wall that tells you what boat the fish was caught on. Local Whitby through and through.
Very busy day in Whitby but plenty of room to sit and eat, which made me concerned it may not be the best fish and chips in town as everywhere else seemed busy.
But to my great pleasure everything was excellent, from the service to the food. Very freshly cooked chips and a wonderfully tasty fish cake. Would recommend without hesitation.
