Best KPortal Reviews

Hands down, the best Mexican food I've had since moving from Texas to Colorado 5 years ago. I've tried a lot of places between Gunnison and Montrose, and this is the only place I'll spend money on Mexican food. The other places are fine for appetizers or drinks... but when I'm craving good Mexican food, best believe I'm coming here!
The tacos and enchiladas are delicious. My husband loves their burritos.
The chips and salsa aren't the best, but the food is and it's a worthy trade-off!
The place is small (which we like), but if you end up seated in the back close to a loud group, your experience might be lacking atmosphere, but that would be the case anywhere.
Found this gem on the way to Crested Butt and was glad we did. Read the reviews on yelp everything looked great. Only negative was slow service because it is a Ma and Pop place. The place has a yellow front entrance as wide as one parking spot. We were lucky and got star parking right in front.
When we entered we were surprised because it was larger than appeared, with tables and bar is a ling room.
We were greeted with a smile and seated at a table in the back. The server provided menus and water. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time and everything came in a reasonable time with drinks first. We ordered a large and small margarita’s. The large was large :-)
Chips and salsa were on point and tasted authentic. We ordered the pork tamale and beef enchiladas and taco cheese combo. Being from San Diego i know my mexican food. Ine if the best tameles i have every tasted. The beef in the taco and enchiladas tasted like moms slow cooked roast beef with a mexi seasoning
Food was amazing, service was quick and good. Parking is street, you may get lucky like I did right in front.
We were there on a Monday 1:30 pm. Tables were available. Check out the menu in the pictures, lots of options.
Love this place!
This family run hole in the wall had some wonderful margaritas, cold beer, but most importantly great tasting home made food. I can highly recommend this location. Come early as the place fills up quickly after 1800. As per usual, I did not take pictures of the food until after I already polished off half of it. Tasted great. First time I had a Chef’s burrito with all the meats cut up and mixed in one burrito. Beef, Chicken, Pork, and Shrimp. I enjoyed it!!
Best Mexican food in the valley hands down! Local family owned restaurant. It usually gets packed, so get there early or order to go. Really good margaritas. Have vegetarian options, which you can opt to remove dairy for any vegans out there. (Why only 4 stars: Usually on point with chips and salsa, but lately the chips are either hit or miss. Not sure why the chips taste soapy every now and then.)
But we still love their food and keep going back because it's just so damn delicious!!!
Great food! I haven’t had an authentic chili relleno since moving to Denver, but ALL of their food was spot on! Their plates were a little smaller than I’m used to, but more than enough to fill me up. Ordered a house margarita and it was great sized and super strong! Small spot, so you may have to wait a bit, but it was worth it. Over all a GREAT family owned and run spot!
Really good food here with great service. I had bean enchiladas with chili verde and carnitas, it was excellent. I tasted the cheese enchiladas with the red sauce and it was excellent too. I tasted the tamale and it was really good. I did not try the quesadilla but my kid enjoyed it. This is a must go to place in Gunnison.
First and only time through Gunnison, stopped for an early dinner. Chips were fresh and crunchy, and salsa had a good kick to it! Tamale was flavorful. Black refried beans were good and rice was OK (a little plain tasting, but that's what makes it good to mix with beans and salsa). Seating is somewhat limited, but nice little spot. Would stop in again if ever in the area.
This was some excellent Mexican food. I had the chef burrito and asked for extra hot. They complied and it was fantastic. Thank you for such a fine meal!
