My husband and I found this gem while visiting family at Thanksgiving. Great diner, amazing food, very friendly staff. Highly recommend!
High prices low quality. SKIP THIS PLACE. they recently got a face lift, but everything else is low quality. Including their staff.....They're putting out food that is clearly rancid (probably from before closing a few months back, truly unbelievable) sending the SAME food out again claiming there's nothing wrong with it. Skip this place. It looks like a remodeled hotel with 1star hotel quality food. The lighting in the building now is BLINDING what a horrible decision....you may leave here sick while paying top dollar for it! There are much better options in area. Personally, I have seen the clientele and staff change so much over the years. It's no longer a place I would visit. Good luck in the future.
Mom and I ate here and as always delicious food, great friendly service, and good prices. Family owned spot for over 30 years. You and the family really need to check them out if ever in Connecticut. You can order ANYTHING on the menu and they will not disappoint.
This is my late night go to place. Everything is freshly made. The staff is very friendly. Since I don't eat meat I don't have much options at the places I go to, but here, I love how I can customize my order and it never tasted bad! I love their omelettes and grilled egg salad sandwich and brownie sundae ????❤️
Coming to price, I felt like this diner's price is couple dollars more than other diners.
My first visit here. Stopped in with my mom around 5pm, so still in time for early bird special. My mom got beer battered fish and chips. Came with soup or salad. I got tuna melt. Which is my go-to at any diner. Waitress was nice enough to tell me the melt has tomato on it, which I declined. My mom got strawberry shake, which she absolutely loved. Waitress brought my mom's salad out and courteously brought my coleslaw out so I'd have something to munch on. My melt was very good. Her fish was good too. We both wanted dessert but got too full! Lol. Could I have found my local go-to diner finally?
Update Aug 2023: this HAS become my go to diner. Never a bad meal. Desserts always fresh. Service always welcoming. Atmosphere always warm. And who is making those onion rings? Cause they are perfection.
We visited late as a group of 5, but the place & customer service was nice. They lit a candle on a cake slice for our friend's birthday March 2018- & that was special. Food was good to be from a diner. The bad thing I noticed is the parking lot is too small & at an angle & u can't park on the street either. Parking is manageable, but sucks.
Let's just say I might not be back. They are performing a major renovation, and the floor was filthy and the ceiling was open. They have two new waitresses who have awful over-the-top very loud and very boisterous personalities. The one waitress who was wearing a scarf on her head must have said "no problem" at least twenty-five times during our twenty minute visit. The quality of the food and the quality of the service have greatly declined in the time since my last visit. My friend and I couldn't even finish our meals they were so awful.
This classic Dinner is very good. I was pleasantly surprised.
Ask for Juan, he is a GREAT SERVER!!
I WILL GO THERE AGAIN FOR SURE!
