Best KPortal Reviews
First time at this establishment. My husband and I loved it. The service was great, Food was even better. We were unfamiliar with a lot of the dishes on the buffet but we still tried it all and we were delighted to find out there wasn’t anything we weren’t fond of! We will definitely be back again. Next time, we will try the tea and some of the entrees instead of buffet. Even grabbed a menu so we could look into each one!
Update July 2023. No diners 8pm Friday or Saturday. The cook out back doing nothing in plain view smoking. Tells you all you need to know. They must go bust soon. Known as 'Armpit Cuisine of India'. No locals go here, it is known for overcharging, terrible food, arrogant owner. Owner can be seen around town furiously scratching at huge bundles of gambling scratchcards. His main focus is faking reviews and gambling that's why he overcharges. Thursday night I spoke to the trucker who came off the freeway as a treat for himself. He told me he was overcharged and the food was not only inauthentic but disgusting.
***THEY FAKE THEIR REVIEWS***
The pics are lifted from other websites. The food is garbage.
I've been here 8 times hoping they could fix it. It got worse. Sometimes it has been so bad I threw the food away. A slight improvement today. I had buffet to go. But let's get something out of the way. The dishonesty. 75% of the reviews are faked, by them I assume. My food today was 3 stars at best but bumped down by me to 2 stars because of the EXTREME SALT LEVELS. Also, most of the chicken cubes are pretty hard, some were so hard I had trouble chewing it. And yet more dishonesty....wouldn't it be great if they could actually make the food pictured on their website. Or even make the menu items? 75% is not available ALWAYS!
THEIR WEBSITE AND MENU bears no relation to what they make and sell. I don't care that they don't or simply cannot make many of their menu items, I don't care about their toilet problems, I don't care about being called 'buddy' when I go in, I don't care about the Apple Pay checkout which demands a 30% tip. I do care about the almost illegal salt levels, the dishonesty and the food which all tastes the same pretty much whatever it is. If this ever gets to the point of being worth it I will notify you. I have to put 1 star to counter their multiple fake 5 star reviews. I wish I could post a MINUS 323 rating to help undo the trickery. RIGHT NOW THIS IS 3 STARS AT BEST. AT BEST. NO! BUT IT ISN'T. THE SALT PROBLEM HAS TO DROP IT TO 2 STARS. THIS HAS TO BE ADDRESSED. This dump is 2 stars only because our town has no health dept for food outlets. I bet you any money there are issues here.
The naan bread is good. Actually it's been very good in the past but today was dry and raw flour tasting. Not enough oil added by their failing chef.
The potato dish was ok, the potato done well yet no real identifiable flavor. Oh I give up on this place, they're determined to be failures. Get a new chef.
*** I think they're using prepackaged spice kits, you can see them on the sales counter. But...also the chef must be very old or a smoker (cannot taste) or he never tastes the food. Do they actually try their own food here? Or is it some regional part of India where salt is king? I don't care anymore. I could feel the salt coming out around my eyes in the middle of the night.
By the way I have not detected the basic Indian curry sauce in anything yet. I am sorry, brother, but despite all your work this isn't looking good.
The owner is arrogant.
Man, this place is great and having lived in big cities, I admit that it's maybe not the most amazing thing you find in New York City, but it is the best thing I found in all of the south including Knoxville. What an awesome gem. I can't wait to come back. I hope they stay in business for years to come
We visited this spot on the recommendation of one of our friends who is knowledgeable about ethnic foods. Everything was great! Lots of nice flavors and interesting combinations. We also liked that they will dial down or forgo the heat for customers who don't like it or can't eat it.
Personally I really like some heat now and then. But not everyone does. It is great they have options for different palates.
Service was outstanding (i.e. our drinks were never empty, the staff was attentive, but not overbearing, they explain different dishes and make recommendations etc) atmosphere very pleasant. We will definitely be back.
It was a great lunch buffet. Each cost only $7 :)
I really liked their mango chicken and tea. Sadly there was no fish dish. The restaurant was clean and people were very friendly.
Honestly I went to this restaurant to give it a try without reading reviews, big mistake. One of the worst Indian restaurants I’ve been. Bland badly cooked tandoori chicken, kebab and shrimp. The portion size for their mixed grill is laughable. $18.99 for few pieces of badly cooked chicken and shrimp. I took pictures and it’s the one on the go tray with nothing else coming with. Let along I didn’t get any beverages otherwise will be over $50 it’s sad for me to share this review but it needs to be posted. The owner probably will respond with a common apology/excuse but I’m not planning to go back at all.
I found this place on google maps with 4.6 ratings while returning from Gatlinburg. My husband and I went to this place for lunch (dine in) at around 1:30pm. We ordered Pappadam, Malai Kofta and Garlic Naan. The quantity was enough for two people and we also got basmati rice as a complimentary. The taste of the curry was really flavoured with indian spices. Kofta binding was perfect and soft to eat. The Garlic Naan was up to the mark! Pappadam had the actual taste of urad dal pappadam in Indian style, you can try it. They have many options for vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian curries, Buffets ($7 per person, Tue to Sun) and Thali. The place inside is clean and bigger in size with more than 15 tables. The staff was friendly and polite. You should try here at least once, you would love it.
Absolutely delicious through and through! Brand new in Corbin and I couldn't be happier about it. I've been around several Indian places over time and it's one of the best restaurants I've ever been, and it's in Corbin!! All these Karens and Darrells that are saying it's no good because of "wait times" or "too spicy" doesn't know what they're talking about. Indian cuisine is naturally spicy, ask for it mild if you can't handle more than a jalapeno in spice level, and it's a brand new restaurant, have some empathy or at least critical thinking skills
