Food was honestly Stunning and much bigger than I had anticipated!! The Staff were extremely professional and were very friendly and knowledgeable. The total atmosphere of the restaurant was Perfect, and made for a very relaxing meal as well as a great place to relax and talk.
I’ve been to many places who have said their food was big in size and portion, but AMI Sushi was the only place that held true to their word about what they were serving.
Will definitely be coming back here! Fully recommend anyone who’s wanting a great meal and atmosphere great place to relax to come here!
Very fresh fish and friendly staff. The biggest pieces of sushi we've ever experienced, making it hard to eat with chopsticks, we finally moved to using forks, which was funny and awkward. Overall it was a good dinner.
If you think you don't like sushi, then you haven't eaten at the likes of Ami Sushi before! Even if you have, they serve BBQ food as well! It was my first time eating there and the food was simply delectable. The chef was so kind and well-mannered too, as were the waitress and rest of staff. Don't even get me started on the udon! I had never had it and now I think I want to swim in it. If I could give them six stars, I would. Highly, highly recommend if you are thinking of trying or want a fresh and delicious new place to eat. I also tried my first Japanese beer and it was delicious! There is no doubt in my mind that I will be returning.
Ordered to go twice this year as we passed through the town. 4 stars for the big roll portion. The Terriyaki is different to most of others as it more of onion sauce but it’s not bad. Friendly staff.
I don't like giving bad reviews. I am pretty easy to please. But this was the worst sushi I have ever had. I ordered 6 pieces of nigiri sushi. Two mackerel, 2 salmon and 2 tuna. The rice was way undercooked so it was hard and crunchy. I couldn't taste any rice vinegar either. The fish was bland and warm. The mackerel was ok and had a thin slice of lemon which was good. The pickled ginger had an off taste. The fish slices are actually way too big. Sushi is supposed to be a one bite item. I would much rather they made tue fish slices half the size and offered more pieces for the same price. Just smaller and bite sized. The service was friendly but also very slow. It wasn't crowded but did have a few people come in to pick up orders. That seemed to be their main focus. I don't think I will be visiting again.

Eat here, biggest sushi rolls I've ever had!
Staff was very kind, and eclectic decor
After aborting a planned earlier lunch due to a big breakfast, I later decided it was best to get a small lunch due to still being within a long drive. From the map, Roseburg is not what one would consider an eatery town. Ami Japanese Restaurant was just the relative most interesting place to eat after a gas stop in Roseburg. In the hot weather outside, I found this place cool and soothing. I had a helping of veggie sushi rolls; I liked them. The cold moist rice made them refreshing on a hot day, and they were tasty. Also, they were anything but stuffing. I digestively felt really good after that small moist lunch. In essence, that sushi lunch was JUST RIGHT!! Miscellaneously, the staff was mellow, happy and professional, yet personable.????????
This place is fantastic. Incredible value and very good food. I keep change in my car for the sole reason of paying for parking (before 6pm) outside of Ami's.
