What a find! The food is terrific— authentic Indian. A relaxed and elegant vibe, yet very affordable. I even got a glass of wine, which had a generous pour. Not what I expected in the heart of the Midwest. I’ll hope for a chance to return.
9/11 The Wife and myself stopped by about 1:30 today. We like good Indian food, however we only do the buffet. This is because we do not know what to order off the menu. You can’t go wrong with a buffet, it may not offer everything but you can try a little of it all and decide what you like best. Drink plenty of water with your meal some of the curries can make you sweat. Water goes better with this food than soda. Overall we liked it here, nice place decent food. Worthy of a return trip.
If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would! The service was amazing. My husband only drinks water and he always has to wait at restaurants for a water refill. Here his cup was never empty! The food was amazing and such a caring waiter explained what everything was to us as it was our first time trying Indian food. Plus you cannot beat these prices! We felt like we were getting a five star meal with amazing customer service and were expecting to pay a pretty penny for our meal and it was so inexpensive! Would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
We came in 30 mins before the lunch buffet closed. We were the only customers in there and were barely greeted when we asked the price of the buffet. 12.99 + tax.
I could tell the food was old and they weren't refilling anything. Our waiter asked if we wanted Naan bread, and we said yes. We did not receive our Naan until we asked about it after we had almost finished our food. He admitted he had forgotten about it. When it did come out, it was actually good and fresh. That was the highlight of the meal. Refills were sparse, and my husband ended up just grabbing the whole pitcher of water and bringing it to our table. Our waiter also decided to make himself a plate and eat as well so couldn't be bothered to pay us much mind.
Won't be going back here again. It's pricey and not worth it. Go to Dehli Palace downtown if you want a delicious Indian buffet!
The food was good, even though it took well over an hour to get it and there were only 3 other tables seated in the dining room. The server took the orders of four in our party of five, and began to walk away before realizing she wasn't quite done taking orders. Clearly the worst service I've had in a restaurant in years. I might go back for the buffet, but never again for full "service" dining.
One of the best Indian buffets we have found in Indiana! Absolutely delicious.
Update - We did revisit this in September of 2023. The buffet is BACK, one of the VERY few I know about that has come back. I'll say this, however, I dropped to 4 stars for a few reasons. Still excellent service and LOVE the HUGE variety of dishes to try (unique for sure). What I didn't like is that 9 out of 10 were just NOT spicy at all. Just creamy.
There were two I DID absolutely LOVE, the darker orange ones which do have a GREAT amount of heat to them. One was chicken (in the photo of the buffet with my plate - it is the top middle next to Tandoori chicken) and the other was I believe a tofu (in the photo of the buffet without my plate - it is in the back right the dark orange chunks) that reminded me of orange chicken.
Great garlic naan, super cream and fantastic mango lassi. Just wish more spice, even in things like the chutney's. Also surprised the lack of the classic chicken tikka masala. But - STILL a solid Indian restaurant and worth visiting - especially if you have NOT experienced Indian food or don't like a lot of spice as you get exposed to a huge variety in the buffet.
I am extremely curious to know what the green drink in the very back was, as I tried it by itself and it was like pure vinegar or something VERY strong and I didn't like. I may have been consuming it wrong but it was in the dessert region on its own table with tea.
This time we decided to dine in this restaurant instead of doing a carry-out. We ordered malai kofta and daal tadka with onion kulcha. The food took a long time to be served which was unusual as there was one more couple beside us dining at that time. Looks like they give preference to carry out orders which we were getting ready pretty quick. The food tasted good and hot as we expected. Their entrees come with complimentary naan and rice. The quantity of an entree was reasonable. If their speed of service improve, I would not hesitate to go back. But for now, I will stick to carrying out food instead of dining there. Our carry out experience is always good and consistent.
We had a stop when driving to Chicago from SC. We were told to order from the menu online. We went ahead and ordered the food and got food within 15 mins. Food was at best okay. But the shocker came when we got the bill. Al the prices were more than started on the website and when asked they told it's issue with Google and website and they cannot do anything about it. For eg: chicken fried rice was mentioned as 7.99 in website but it was billed as 12.99 and so on. Not only that they did not honor what is on website butt have some unrelated answer. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant which do not honor what they put up in their own website and nowhere showing that price May differ. Attached photo of website prices.
