I recently hired Alvin's Moving Company for what I hoped would be a straightforward job: swapping refrigerators between two houses. Unfortunately, the experience was filled with issues from the start. They arrived in a rented U-Haul with no tools.
Firstly, the team arrived at the wrong house. Although my neighbor kindly let them in, this mix-up resulted in my food being left out for over three hours, leading to spoilage. This was not only inconvenient but also a waste of groceries and money.
The problems didn't end there. During the move, both my new and old homes suffered significant damage. The moving process resulted in large holes in the wood of both the front and back door frames of the one house, as well as noticeable scratches on the wooden floors. In my house, the damage included a broken refrigerator door handle and a hole in the wall.
I have attempted to resolve these issues by contacting Alvin's Moving Company multiple times, but to no avail. Calls go unanswered, and their voicemail box is consistently full, leaving me with no avenue for recourse or communication.
It's disheartening to write such a negative review, but I believe it's important for potential customers to be aware of my experience. The lack of professionalism and accountability has been deeply disappointing. I cannot recommend Alvin's Moving Company based on this experience and I will be requesting payment for damages.
I have used Alvin's 3 times. They are on time, very professional and reasonably priced. Alvin stayed and guided everything for each move. He personally places everything in the truck and does a great job. I will use them again if I move again.
I have nothing but positive feedback for Alvin's Delivery and Moving Service. It started with the lady in the front office, excellent communication, handled all of my needs. The day of moving, the movers showed up early and handled all of my items in a timely and professional manner. The staff was friendly and did an amazing job. I can't recommend these people highly enough and I am so grateful for Alvin and the crew making my day so much easier. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.
These guys are absolutely awesome! Alvin came and helped himself, not expecting his team to do anything he wouldn't do himself. Very professional, very friendly and down to business. Mine was a hard move because of living in condo but second story didn't alter their professional attitude. Will use always again if needed in the future.
I was very impressed with the service I received from Alvin’s Moving Service. Everyone was very polite and professional. The 2 young teenagers were very hard workers. All the way from the receptionist to the owner I was very, very, pleased with this company.Thanks for making our move so much easier.
We decided for this Move, we were not going to do ANYTHING. Alvin's did it all! They were on time and had wonderful personalities. They moved everything from our old home into our new home carefully and timely. Best service you can ever receive and the cost was reasonable!!!!

I'll start with the positives: They showed up on time and the movers were very polite, nice guys. 2 of the 3 were not very experienced, but the foreman? Owner? Team lead? was on hand to guide them.
Unfortunately, the foreman didn't stick around more than a few minutes - just long enough to set the movers in motion and refuse to move some of my stuff ("we don't move TVs because last week a customer accused us of breaking hers - but she couldn't prove it wasn't broken beforehand so we don't move TVs anymore" what??) He stated that we underestimated the amount of trucks we would need - possible, but we aren't the experts here. We don't know how to eyeball how many truckloads of stuff we own. We ended up having to rent a box truck and two movers out of Texas to finish our move.
One of the movers ran over my mailbox. He was very apologetic.
The movers damaged 3 pieces of furniture trying to get them into my new place (again, they weren't very experienced and I don't blame them. The foreman bailed early on this part too, so they had no instruction). One box, clearly labeled "deep freeze," ended up in a pile of other boxes and we didn't find it for a few days.
TL/DR: Polite, hard workers, but there needs to be an experienced hand or, ideally, a foreman who actually sticks around to direct the move. One star for how quickly they worked.
This company has good rates and they are very professional. The only issue I had is that the secretary told me that assembly is included in the price which is not accurate. The company charges extra to assemble any furniture. Other than that the movers were careful with my items and they were very respectful. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for movers.
