Best KPortal Reviews
a group of friends and i were looking for a restaurant to grab dinner together as we walked around the neighborhood and came across this restaurant + we definitely made a great decision!!
first off, the employees are all friendly, sweet, and welcoming! we only stopped by because we were taking pictures outside of the restaurant and the employees smiled & waved at us to come in :)
we weren’t sure what to order but the waiter recommended us the best dishes and we enjoyed everything. very clean, great presentation, and delicious. highly recommend stopping by here! definitely will come back❤️
This is the best shawarma spot on Steinway. The servings are generous and the staff is fantastic. I came by here on a Tuesday night and was welcomed with smiles. The lady who took my order was kind as always and the man who made the shawarma was kind and cheerful as well. I asked them questions about the food and they were happy to answer them. The shawarma came out pretty quickly and it was hot and fresh. The serving size is considerably large as well. This has become my go-to spot for chicken and beef shawarmas. Also, everything is halal.
AlSham Restaurant truly shines with its mouthwatering double beef and chicken shawarmas, each bursting with flavor. Their special AlSham Mix Grill is a must-try for an authentic taste of varied grilled delights. The beautiful setting makes it a perfect spot for family gatherings and celebrations.
This is my 1st experience @ this place and service was great. We were hosted by a middle age middle eastern lady. Food was served the presentation was great, portion were good and taste amazing. I ordered the mix grill/ beef gyro sandwich and hummas as starter. I am quiet satisfy with food and try again.
Went pretty late night, open late so a good option for night owls. Food was okay, the options were good but the quality of food was not that great. Gyro meat was dry, lamb chops were also a bit dry. Got the mixed platter so different meats were a hit or miss. Chicken shawarma was decent though.
Today is Sunday and i found AlNour closed so i went to Alsham for takeaway. The food is alright & greasy.like no flavor ,but i have had worse. The place is more expensive than other places close by.But its manager lady at the register, she was sitting on a very high horse. After i paid for my food she couldnt care how long i was waiting or to check on my food.I reminded her after 25 mins that i am still here.No answer the first time so i asked her again. Finally got my kebab platter after over 30mins.mediocre food, high prices and manger/owner who doesnt care.
While i was getting tired of waiting she was on a video chat eating french fries.
Please go somewhere else for better food at better prices.
These 2 stars are for the other employees who were working hard.If this lady is really part of the management she should replace herself or she should improve her work skills.
Good luck.
****** The above is my review a few months.Coincidently the very next week my cousins took me out for dinner to Alsham.
I liked the food a lot this time and the service was prompt.A turkish girl in scarf helped us.Very polite and expedited service. There was 5 of us and the experience was good this time
Visited today… service not friendly… selling fake soda and charging two dollars… I think they don’t want to promote American products…bought 39 dollars shavarma 7 dollar service charge adjustment 1.5 dollars and asking 18% tip… Horrible …beware before walk in…..Not paid tip because They don’t deserve ….pls read the owner reply also how rude he is… so expect such type of service inside the restaurant
I've recently had some disappointing experiences at Al Sham.
The cashiers, especially the girl, have been consistently disrespectful with the customer, often speaking loudly and using inappropriate language in Arabic.
Honestly I was not neither confortable with the hygiene.
This creates an uncomfortable atmosphere.
Moreover, I've noticed a decline in the quality of the food. My recent visit left me with a very negative impression. The chawarma chicken was cold and the salad without any seasoning.
I hope the management takes steps to address these issues for a better overall dining experience.
