Best KPortal Reviews
Aloha sushi in Nimitz is by far the best sushi on this island!! I get the hurricane maki and it is so fresh and amazing every time. Nothing beats the fresh and fast service. Fresh sushi, fresh poke, it doesn’t get any better than Aloha sushi! Wendell at the counter is friendly and fast every time. Thanks Wendell!
Could not have been a better experience here. The sushi was amazing, someone the best I've had in 3 years on the island, but the service was just as good.
I have severe allergies to eggs and this can make getting sushi stressful (mayo and spicy mayo). After explaining this I went to order something and it was "well you can't have that but we can take this roll and switch out Spicy mayo for unagi"sauce"
Went above and beyond to work with me and was very kind. I wish I'd found this place years ago so I could have more before heading to Japan.
Mahalo nui and Aloha!
Food was great - nice value for quality. Very nice poke. The service was also excellent and friendly. A quaint family-owned business. More of an fyi, this place is more for takeout as they don't have much table space.
Amazing food! The spicy unagi poke bowl is stellar! Super friendly owners and it’s great to support local businesses like these ☺️
I stopped by for a quick bite at aloha sushi in Nimitz. I ordered Superman maki and it was the bomb. It was tasty but not too much sauce in it. It’s got their own ways to amplify the taste of sushi. If you wanna have affordable price with great taste experience this restaurant is it!! Highly recommended. I’m coming back for more!!
okay-ish sushi. the place is small and the area is in a strip mall looking place but easy to find parking. the spicy ahi donburi is okay for the price ($18 or so) and it comes with miso soup. the miso soup tastes like one of those microwaveable packs that are mostly just water so -0.5 star in that. for the people that are unfamiliar with sushi (ahem land locked white folk) this place does it fine but not much to rave about. close to the airport, yes. top tier? not really. all in all, 4/5. OH! and if you are one of 8,937 people on earth that enjoy christian music, please feel free to dine in. not my cup of (miso) soup, but to each their own.
I arrived and started looking over the menu and at all of their different sushi/bento combos. Very overwhelming to navigate for my first time, but no big deal I eat sushi 100+ times /year. Sometimes every day twice a day.
I ended up ordering the salmon/ahi poke bowl along with a samurai Maki. I also tried to order a "tuna avocado maki". This is where my problems started. The guy taking orders told me "we don't have that on the menu". I asked, can you make it for me and charge whatever you need to charge. He doubled down and said "we can't do that. We can make the spicy ahi Maki or an ahi hand roll and add avocado". Again I said, I don't want that. That comes with cucumber and spicy tuna. I would like a Maki roll with ahi tuna and avocado, that is all.
At this point he still refused to make it so I said forget it, ill just stick with the poke bowl and samurai roll.
When my food arrived (I ate in the location), he pushed the tray too hard at me and spilled the miso soup. (Not a lot, but I could tell he didn't like me from our exchange about the tuna avocado Maki and this was probably a subconscious action. He asked if I wanted another, I said no its fine.
Lastly, the spoon for the miso soup is basically flat. I had a very difficult time eating with the spoon because you can't pick up any liquid with it. I ended up just picking up the bowl and drinking.
The flavor and quality of the sushi was excellent and I had no issues along those lines.
I hope this review helps the owner / management correct a few service related issues to improve this location!
My husband and I love Aloha Sushi! We’ve been eating here at least once a week. They have great food at good prices and really great service from a really nice family. We found them two years ago and my family goes nowhere else for sushi on island!
