Best KPortal Reviews
Pineapple chicken wrap was the best wrap I’ve ever had!! Very friendly staff and the restaurant has a great theme and feel. Prices are very affordable unlike a lot of other spots at oceanfront. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating as well. I will be back!
2/3/24 - came back and got to try to Korean BBQ wrap. It was delicious. I also didn't realize I get fries with it. They are waffle fries which are my favorite. They had a nice crisp to them too.
12/16/23 - what a cool spot. The interior decor is so cute. The staff was super nice and patient. I got the south Pacific farmer bowl to go. Lots of items to choose from the menu but not overwhelming. The bowl was so good. I would really like to come back and try some other items. Hopefully I can soon! I highly recommend trying the food and stopping by.
I've been here a few times, and every time I’ve been here, the experience and the food have been great! I’ve eaten from the food truck also, and let me tell you for a food truck it is incredible! The restaurant has a great beachy Hawaiian vibe (hence the name). The picture below is the “Spicy Poke Tots,” My first thought was raw fish and fried tots? I was a little skeptical, but surprisingly, it blended well! It was delicious! Also, it’s not overly spicy. Other things I’ve had is the “Mini Poke Taster” it is refreshing on a hot summer day. Also, you can’t go wrong ordering off their special menu. I have yet to be let down! Also, the fries are off the chain!!
Aloha Snacks was good! My sister and I popped in around 2pm, so it was easy parking and no one was in line ahead of us. Seating is first come, but you’ve got options - hightop/window seating, table seating, and outside seating - but id imagine it gets pretty crowded during peak hours, so plan accordingly. You order at the front before sitting. They’re seemingly known for their poke bowls and burgers - BUT we just had sushi the night before and having burgers later that evening - SO we decided to split the Bulgogi waffle fries and these alone will keep us coming back for more! They were SO GOOD!!! We didnt realize it was going to be such a hefty portion… we could have just split that and been full, but i also ordered their fried oyster poboy on special and my sister got some kind of savory bowl? They were both just OK. The bowl she got was drowning in some sort of gravy, which was kind of a turn off. We also tried spam for the first time (sticking out of my sister’s bowl) and decided that we’re NOT spam people… but there is plenty on their menu without it! The bulgogi fries solidified 3.5-stars alone and the atmosphere/vibe was laid back and casual, so i bumped to a 4 ???? I’ll have to go back for poke or burgers for a true rating.
Unique Hawaiian style restaurant even has Spam in some of their menu items. I decided on an Avocado burger with cheese for $14. It was good especially the bun; but I should have gone with the Hawaiian Cowboy because for $2 more you got a second hamburger patty and pineapple slice and Spam. The waffle fries were nice and crispy. Also got the painkiller drink which was great! Only complaint was relatively expensive due to the 5.5% meal tax and 6% sales tax. But that applies to all restaurant meals at Virginia Beach.
Really Glad that we tried the Aloha Snacks today!
Its a nice and lively place near VB.
Their Poke bowls are a must try and while you are there, do not miss on the Malasadas for dessert.
Loved the atmosphere and the colourful interior, the staff was very professional and helpful.
Wow! What an outstanding place. This is exactly the type of place we look for when we travel. Fun, unique food options that are just delicious. The service was great, very friendly. The owner was walking around checking in on everyone and was more than happy to assist with questions or purchases. The atmosphere is very much like a local surf bar in Hawaii. Very eclectic, lively and welcoming. They have some great apparel options as well that have some nice designs. Both bar and table seating were available, however it did not feel cramped.
We both got the Hawaiian Cowboy burger. A deliciously double stacked smash burger with crispy spam, a slice of pineapple, cheese and a Huli sauce on top. The burger was excellently cooked, very juicy, and had a great flavor. You could taste all of the different ingredients nicely, but not one thing stood out over the other. It was a fine blend of sweet, savory and tangy in an excellent bun. The waffle cut fries were no slouch either, nicely salted, and a good sized serving.
If you're a fan of just some great, creative, local / Hawaiian food. Or just food in general... Definitely make it a point to stop here.
Sadly, we only have a few days left in town, however I anticipate going back again.
I have never had a bad meal at Aloha Snacks VB! In fact, it is one of the reasons we come back to Virginia Beach each year. The menu has great variety and you want to try one of everything. I recommend going with a group so everyone can get something different and everyone can have a taste! Also, don't sleep on the malasadas!
