Best KPortal Reviews

Stopped in for a quick lunch on my break. They have an all you can eat buffet for a very reasonable price. I got an enchilada, a tostada and a taco. It was good. Fast service, a very polite and attentive server. I will definitely be going back. Next time I’m going to try the buffet. Prices are reasonable, service was fast and food was reasonably portioned.
I recently had a taco salad at Aldaco's Taco Bar in Holt, and I was disappointed to find that it was more like a nacho combo meal from Taco Bell. The salad was mostly chips and cheese with lettuce, with very little meat or vegetables. I would not recommend this dish to others. This sint what I would call a taco salad. Taco salads at other restaurants consist of a tortilla shell or large bull that has ground beef or chicken, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and other ingredients.
I understand that this is just one person's opinion, and others may have had different experiences. However, I hope this review is helpful for you to decide whether or not to try the taco salad at Aldaco's Taco Bar. Chips were fresh and my meal was fresh though.
My wife and I have been coming to Aldaco’s for several decades. Sadly, only the front half of the restaurant is being used with their famous buffet closed. The food was delicious and my surprise was that a sign posted at every table that a bowl of chips and salsa were no longer available. My wife was has beef here for many years was upset and ready to leave since we’ve never heard of a ban on chips and sake abut to our surprise our wonder waitress Aneissa brought us a small bowl of their fresh made chips with a mild salsa because I am a whimp for spicy. These are not ordinary chips from a bag but hand made deliciousness. To our surprise was the prices, only a dollar and some change was the difference between preCovid-and today’s prices. I loved my choice number 13, the taco, burrito and toast ado trio. My wife’s favorite TACO MUSH was gone in seconds. This is her favorite dish of all of the Hispanic restaurants in MICHIGAN. Aniissa was the sweetest and most courteous waitress we’ve ever met. Her smile, bright personality and understanding of the menu overshadowed our initial disappointment! Every meal was truly authentic in its Mexican fare. Simply put, this is worth the 50 Mike drive, gas prices and all! I applaud the cooks and our newly beloved waitress,Aneissa! Typos are all mine, my taste buds never lie! Yummy!
This place has amazing food and a 12" taco. The staff is very professional. The waitress comes off a little hard but she is amazing. The area it's located in isn't the best but well worth a visit.
I have been coming here for years. The staff is long-term and literally watched my kids grow up. Good food, great staff!
*** UPDATED 5/8/21 No longer the same as they once were. The quality hit rock bottom. ????
I don't know what happened, but the quality of the food can't get any worse than what it is. I ordered a combination dinner and tostada lunch. I threw away the ground beef taco because the meat tasted old and the corn tortilla was so stale, I couldn't even bite a piece clean off.
The tostadas were buried under a huge mound of lettuce. The cheese enchilada was a gooey, mushy mess. That was basically a rolled up tortilla with the cheese melted on TOP of it, because it was absolutely flat with nothing inside of it. Loaded with a thick (not fresh) mole'.
Pictured is the tamal that came with the combination dinner. I don't recognize the meat in it. That is definitely NOT fresh. It looks several weeks old! ???? The prices went UP and the quality plummeted.
This was ordered as delivery and it came in 20 minutes and now I know why.. They MUST have grabbed food that had been sitting around all day and threw it in the microwave. Except for the tamal...that had to be sitting around for weeks! Meat doesn't look like that over night.
DO NOT waste your $$. Maybe ownership changed hands? But it is definitely NOT the same as years ago. ????
Short staffed, and food was bland. The sauce was bland too. It's unfortunate, I was so hyped to try their food.
I used to absolutely LOVE this place before it moved up the road. I ate there a few times after it moved and it wasn't as good as before, but it wasn't nearly as awful as it is now.
This place is probably the most overpriced restaurant in Ingham County and Mexican food is the absolute cheapest cuisines there is to make, outside of canned ravioli. The prices would make more sense if they weren't so skimpy on servings and the food was good, but it's worse than frozen TV dinners!
As others have said, I can't believe this place is even still in business. Especially, now that they no longer have the buffet.
Absolutely great food here. Service was great and will keep coming back.
