Dave is a good guy, talks you through what’s up with your car, shows you the parts and explains what’s actually happened, which is a huge plus. Seemed to genuinely care about getting my motor up and running. Recommended through a friend of mine, absolutely recommend Albany to anybody.
I was recommended Albany through the local Facebook group, and I have to say, Dave is an absolute gem. He keeps you updated, genuinely cares about getting to the bottom of an issue (id had a rattling sound in the left side of the car for 2 years and 3 different mechanics told me there was nothing there) and charges fair prices. Already booked in my MOT, and will be back for sure! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Always good service, honest and competitive price. Saved me on more than one occasion when other garages failed to diagnose and fix issues.
I recently purchased an older low milage car which I sent to Albany to check over and have a few things done - I am not expecting this car to be issue free but what I was expecting was for the issues to be diagnosed and fixed at my expense, this was the very point of the transaction. The guys at the garage are lovely but I did come away with undiagnosed issues that quite frankly were dangerous
It turns out my rear left calliper was seized and so the kind guys at the garage replaced it for what I would say is on the higher end of the spectrum (£200 parts and labour) the lads are happy and I assume the issues are over, job done and I drive away.
A week later I drive my car about 5 miles and the front right brakes start smoking - I jack up the car and the wheel is so stiff I can barely turn it, and I refuse to believe this happened in a week as brakes take months of sitting still to seize. They had the car jacked up and one of the brakes had seized so wouldnt you check that the rest worked as they should?? this is the crux of my issue - they claimed my problems were solved but in fact the exact same problem happened on my other brake! it takes 3 seconds to diagnose a seized calliper!
So now I have bought a whole set of callipers, pins and brake pads for the remaining three wheels for £140 - I understand labour is the most expensive part of the job and thats why I took my car to these professionals - because I value my time, however if they want to charge 200 per wheel I'll just do it myself. quite dissapointed
Final job of Aircon regassing was charged for but never completed (I found out later that it didn't work) - £60 completely wasted too
Absolutely chuffed with the body work and engine repair from Albany Autos - top guys, helpful, polite and trustworthy. They offered to pick me up from home to come and collect my car and cleaned it inside and out, sparkling! Chuffed to bits and highly recommend. :-)
I couldn’t recommend this garage enough, Dave went above and beyond for me and was able to find the fault in my car and repair it, doing extra bits on it that he had found too. Honest, amazing service from a genuine man for a very good price.
Just had my Vw transporter MOT at Albany Motors. Dave the owner could not have been more helpful and accommodating. I had a wrist injury and was unable to drive. He came and collected my van and dropped it off due to my injury. They have done an amazing job. The communication was excellent and they went above and beyond to help me. I Would highly recommend Albany Motors. Thanks folks ????
We've been using Albany Auto for years. Always helpful. We've also bought two cars from Dave in the past and he was really helpful. When you find a place like this, you really don't go anywhere else as the service, honesty, pricing and clarity is hard to beat. Would highly recommend.
