If I could give no stars I would. From my experience I would highly recommend going elsewhere.
I needed a new EGR and needed these guys to fit it too. I got given a quote of £348. £198 for the EGR and £150 for labour. I thought this was roughly about the correct price. I was booked in to drop my car off at 10:30am this morning(06/04/20). I arrived on time but the mechanic wasn't there prior to my arrival. I had to wait until 11:30 - 12:00 for him to arrive which was annoying but not the end of the world. Bare in mind I am only paying £35 of this job and the AA breakdown company were to pay the following amount (maximum of £500) so personally as long as the total amount was less than £535 I would be satisfied. Still I know that to replace an EGR would never cost more than this amount no matter how difficult it is to get too. I have taken off EGR valves and cleaned them and it does take time but for me to take one off, clean it and put it back on it would only take me 4-5 hours. So anyway the garage was almost ready to start work on the car and they just got off the phone to the AA to confirm that the repair was going ahead. The mechanic told me that the total cost was £620 which is 78% more. I told him that the quote I got given over the phone was significantly less to which he said the quote is the quote it cannot change. I asked him how did he work it out and he said £300 for an EGR valve and the rest for labour. this would mean if this job was 4 hours long then they would be asking £80 per hour. My car is a VW and they charge £90 per hour. yes they are charging less than VW but i was previously told it would be £150 for labour so how could the rate increase by 113%. This garage could potentially be excellent in what they do but from my experience they will absolutely try to take advantage of you if they can. Wasted 2 hours of my time by waiting around and them sorting themselves out as they arrived more than an hour after I did and also attempted to rip me off so just be careful when using this garage.
Took my car for an MOT this week. Easy to book, kept in touch with work that was needed. Changed the tyre at a bargain price and also fixed another issue. Would definitely be using them again for any work needed in the future.
Very friendly and informative, only problem they Don't use seat protectors when driving, or sitting in you're vehicle..
Always good service & workmanship along with reasonable prices. Been taking my car here for years and can't fault them!
