Best KPortal Reviews
AL. Ringling brewing company is one of the coolest and unique restaurant/brewery's that I have ever visited. This place is so cool! They have tons of really great and unique old Circus memorabilia throughout the building, which I absolutely loved. They have quite a good variety of different beers to select, I think they had about 15 when I visited. The English Porter and Bourbon barrel aged beers that I had were fantastic and some of the best beer I have ever had. They had a few pool tables inside. The food was good. I had a couple empenadas. The shrimp one was my favorite. The bartender was great. The prices were reasonable. They have a tour of the mansion the Brewery is connected to. We didn't have time to take the tour, but I'll be back soon to check it out. If you like great beer, or like history and circuses, this place is a must visit. I would highly recommend checking it out.
The wife and I made a very spontaneous trip to Baraboo and chance brought us to this charming brewery and restaurant. Our server was absolutely fantastic and even brought us beer samples to try to help us decide. They brought us both fresh fried bluegill and fried Wisconsin cheese curds. Amazing food and service! When I inquired about a place to stay for the night, she suggested we stay there. So much history throughout the home, and Joe took us through the tour to show us around. Highly recommend! The home is still in its restoration, but we felt just like extended family on our stay. We stayed in Lou Ringling’s room furnished with her original personal belongings. Modest prices, and now we can say that we’ve lived in a haunted mansion for a night!
Beers so good the first flight only made me more undecided.
Drew is a master brewer, his understanding of the chemistry of beer and flavors shows in everything on tap. Even things outside my wheelhouse or liked flavors were hits.
If craft beers are your jam then definitely check this place out.
The food was amazing, not the typical bar menu for what’s around and it can be noticed that care is put into the dishes. My favorite is the empanadas, their house made chimichurri was a fresh and delicious.
Friendly staff that knows their beers.
Only thing I wish was better was my ability to try more beers. If you’re a beer drinker don’t pass this place up
It leans heavily into the town circus roots with the lighting and decor, which was fun. Tons of open space and seating--a great place to come and hang out with your friends while you work on solving the annual murder mystery.
Overall i think they do their ales better than their other selections-- the ales felt more practiced.
Stopped in yesterday, Wednesday...to an empty tap room...just what I prefer so I can chat up the beertender.... and boy did I ever! Beertender Ashley absolutely radiated w kindness. I forget what she said it was but the big organ is not a Wurlitzer; the building used to be the local Elks and where the tap room is used to be the Elks ballroom. There was a bowling alley in the basement which the floorboards of it now make up the tap room tables! So the tap room just oozes originality and history! You really have to sit down and slowly spin around the room to take it all in! Like the little wire type globe w the motorcycles circling in it! Also pay attention when you're walking up to the building... you don't want to miss the fun little mustache hand stamps in the concrete! Then once you enter the building the Ringling history begins!!Build a flight...if not for the chance to try several beers at once... the Ringling trademark mustache makes an appearance again...as the flight paddle! I opted for a flight of #2 Elephant Walk - Belgian Tripel, #7 Barabooberry fruit beer made w the seasonal beer, #8 Hot Summer Night black currant sour & #14 Flying Squadron Maple 10% Russian Imperial Stout. All the beers were delicious but the Flying Squadron Maple and Hot Summer Night walked away my winners! As I told beertender Ashley: the sour had what I look for in a sour.. the tart that makes the back of my neck hair stand up, like wasabi. Then... you just can't go wrong w a RIS on a cold day. I noticed the Pie Car sign on the wall above a food window. I didn't see anyone in it and didn't ask Ashley but I had read on yelp that that is where you can order Peruvian food. Thanks Al Ringling Brewing for exceeding my expectations for what I was expecting from a small town, to me, brewery. I loved how you worked so much fun circus history in to the brewery tap room. Ashley and I laughed when I asked: what time do the lions and tigers come out for petting...and the elephants for rides? Ha. Cheers!
We had a very good time here on St. Patrick's Day, a very witty harp player, excellent service and good food. Finished the afternoon off with one of the best card tricks ever, amazing, going to look for him on Penn and Teller in the future. Empanadas were excellent.
A nice space where I enjoyed a beer and some wifi. I found a nice seat upstairs in the "mezzanine" area with some privacy.
I did try to order some food at the window but as I walked up, the counterperson went into the kitchen and worked on something. After 20 minutes - 10 of which I stood there waiting and 10 I could see from my seat - he did not come back out to the counter.
The beer was great but without some food, I did not have a second beer and decided to head on.
Came from out of town to grab a bite to eat. Once we were seated, it was a few minutes before a server took our order. There were no pretzels or cheese curds. My husband and I ordered the pork skewers and seasoned fries and the pork was so dry I had to eat it like corn on the cob! The fries weren't seasoned at all, just overly salted. I wasn't drinking so I ordered a water. No one asked if I wanted a refill. The waitress that would walk past seemed annoyed that she had to serve us. We asked for silverware and that took 15 minutes. My friend asked for a root beer twice and never received it! We had to go get our own bill. Definitely wouldn't come back!
