While the ambiance might not be the best, the food is truly exceptional. The service was both friendly and efficient. Despite a relatively quiet night, it was evident that they have a substantial takeaway business. The place seems to be a local favorite, likely owing to its longstanding ownership by the same people for many years. With a base in the area, we plan on making regular returns.
Couldn’t have picked a better place for a delicious, filling, authentic curry meal for our first night in London. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We did not know this was a BYOB establishment, and when he realized that we’d wished we had known that, he told us to run next door and buy some beers from Aldi - and he saved the table for us! We are Americans and did not know how to properly eat our prawn puri appetizer, so he comically showed us the way. Food was 10/10 delicious. We cleaned our plates - which is rare for us. Maybe we were just hungry from the long day of travel, but I think there is something very special about this place. You will not be disappointed if you visit Akash!
This is the best curry house hands down of anywhere I've ever been, literally outstanding and the price is fantastic too. Food is nothing short of sublime. I can't sing its praises enough, your chef is outstanding. Your wait staff are lovely and attentive. My new regular. If your in the area and you love curry, then look no further. I've been to the expensive places and the one in the library. But nothing beats here.
Family friendly, with very good food! Kids (9&6) loved the tikka massalla. Service was friendly and engaging. Everyone left happy. Alcohol was BYOB, but the service opened it and poured for us with no fees, and soft drinks were available.
Excellent food and service! Very good experience, very tasty home made Indian food! If you have the occasion, don't miss it, you will not be disappointed.
This is definitely the place to visit for your Indian. Make sure to order the samosa and chicken tikka for starters. The samosa is made exactly like the ones served at the home during the festive periods.
Try all the biryani’s, I have. This place has now become my favourite Indian.
It was the only place in London that required cash payment, and the only restaurant I didn't feel comfortable with. After taking my order, I was told to go to the ATM to pay in cash, so I just left. I didn't want to make change on my last evening in London. Is this a place that only accepts cash payments? This was the place I chose for my last evening in London, but I felt sad. The food may be delicious, but I couldn't understand why they said only cash payment was possible. It was very disappointing.
Service was friendly and very good. Food did not disappoint. Meat was very tender and juicy. Lots of flavour and texture. It will cater for those who like spicy or not so spicy food.
Restaurant was a little too cramped for me. But cosy and I'm a big guy anyway. I didnt feel uncomfortable once the food started rolling in. Atmosphere was good.
Pricing is good for London. Portions are decent.
No. 6, 16 bus stop close by and I think they do delivery. I think there is free parking after 6:30pm.
