Loved the food! We started off with the massive pretzel and then we each had our meals. I ordered the Shrimp and cheesy grits. It was awesome. My son did the pasta and chicken. It was my first time there and was disappointed with service. Our waiter was a nice gentleman, but he seemed very distracted with the Pacer game. It took a long time to get to-go containers and check out. Will go again and hopefully it will be better.
I took the wife in for Tues. steak special. Ordered an app and our waiter talked me into ordering our dinner at that time as well against my better judgement. I told him " ok as long as they don't bring it all at once". Wouldn't you know here comes my salad before the app comes out. Sent that back and while still eating the app here comes the food. So I didn't get to finish the app and had to decide whether to eat the salad and let the steak get cold or eat the steak. So I decided to eat the steak and forgo the salad. While the steak was great the potato was hard as a rock. Guess I won't be coming back for steak night. Not my best experience at this establishment. I have given this place 5 stars in the past, however it seems like the service and food quality has gone down lately.
My first time visiting AJs. The thin crust pizza is ????????????. Bartender was attentive and friendly. I will definitely be visiting again to try some additional food items and would also like to catch some live music sometime soon. 5 ✨'s
SOLID Tenderloin sammich from a guy that...actually reviews Indiana tenderloins! Maybe a taaaaaaad bit thin for me...but seasoned well, cooked wonderfully (not greast at all, and cooked hot in fresh oil), with excellent, fresh veg to top it off with! My server (the bartender) was SUPURB. She made sure I was taken care of, and was super friendly...GREAT JOB! The fries as a side were AWESOME!!!! I would definitely come back to this scrubby, clean, shiny, and well decorated chill little East Side eatery! The East Side of Indy has a go to place for a damn good tenderloin!
Always great food and service. Got the bbq chicken sliders and tator tots. Really good. Great bar space.
This was our first time dining here. My father in-law and I ordered the fish and chips, my hubby had tenders w/ fries and my mother-in-law had the tuna melt which had a bit too much mayo. Overall the food was really good, the portion sizes are more than enough. Good service.
Okay so now I'm kicking myself for never coming here before now. It's definitely not just a bar but after the food I've had today I have to call it a restaurant.
My experience here was so good that I can't ever call this bar food. I came for brunch on Saturday and had the eggs benedict and it was exceptional! Of course I had to stay and have some drinks and as I got closer to dinner time I decided to try the Philly cheesesteak sliders with fries. The sliders were really good but I have to admit the french fries were some of the best I have ever put in my dirty mouth.
Wonderful atmosphere and the staff is second turn on definitely stop in and give this a shot. There's a meatloaf sandwich on the menu that's on my hit list next.
After having been to AJs multiple times now, I wanted to update my review! Good spot! Their serving size is just perfect. The Cuban sliders and mustard is really good! They also have some great weekly specials. I had the kohlrabi bulgogi bowl (pictured) this past week. Husband likes this pizza! Staff is always attentive and friendly even on Thursdays which is trivia night.
