Great experience and very friendly! We woke up to a flat tire the morning we were scheduled to head back from a excellent ski trip. Phil squeezed us in and had the tire repaired quickly without charging us an arm and a leg. Highly recommend Phil for your car repair needs in Angel Fire, NM!
Positive Experience. Phil located my part, drove out of town to pick it up and installed it in a reasonable time. He stayed in good communication the entire time, and the final bill was LESS than he first quoted. So yes, good all around. I would recommend as that I have no complaints at all. I just drove 300 miles on this fresh repair, while hauling a trailer, and everything held up just fine. Good work.
We needed a tow from our VRBO in Angel Fire on New Year’s Day due to the heavy snowfall. I tried calling several places. They answered the phone right away and Brad came as soon as he could to help us out to the highway.
Stay away! Tried to charge me $2,800 for spark plugs, 3 coils. Didn’t do a compression test or any of the work I asked for in 2.5 months. He quoted me at 8 hrs of labor and $1,700 for spark plugs, coils, and fuel injectors and diagnostics. Then did not do the work and tried to hold the van hostage. Cody didn’t re attach my spark plugs, manifold snorkel, and manifold itself. Lost the bolts on top of everything.
On top of this Phil (owner) said Cody has been dropping the ball on things. So he is knowingly employee a bad mechanic.
We were visiting Angel Fire for a family vacation. We ended up getting a rock stock in one of the wheels it sounded terrible people couldn’t hear us coming from a mile away! We called and asked if we could bring our car in, super fast service and fixed the problem right away by getting the rock out. Totally made our day and the owner was super friendly!
I needed a minor dent popped out of the plastic bumper of my rent car. I asked a server @ Angel Fired Pizza and he immediately referred me to Phil at Affordable Auto. I called Phil the next morning and he told me to come by and he’d look at it.
He eyeballed it, grabbed a heating tool and a couple of other tools and fixed it in less than five minutes. Fast, friendly, efficient and reasonable.
I travel to Angel Fire frequently and it’s so comforting to know such a competent and reliable mechanic is headquartered there.
I had a tire that required attention yesterday due to a screw we picked up during our drive up from San Antonio. These folks were able to square me away and get me back to the mountain in time for my afternoon ski lessons. Fair price, Honest, Fast Service. Highly Recommend this establishment for tire repair needs.
Phil was amazing when we had a cracked radiator due to gravel being swept up in the wind and chucked into the front of our car near Capulin. He gave us advice (he didn’t have parts to fix it and wouldn’t be able to get them during our stay) and wasn’t going to charge but we paid him anyway. We can rest easy the 4 times a year we go to Angel Fire that we have found a reliable and honest mechanic. We highly recommend him!
