We arrived to find our rooms ready for us even though we were early. The rooms were nicely decorated. Lots of hot water when we arrived back after our walks. Those who used the showers were impressed. The food was good. We had arranged to have sandwiches and the sandwiches were delicious, proper meat and lots of salad. Stuart and Becky were very helpful with suggestions, advice and practical help. Hope to return next year.
7 of us stayed 4 nights for a walking holiday in the area. Stuart made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water for baths and showers when we all arrived back at the same time. Wifi was only available in the dining room and TV reception was intermittant in some rooms. The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious and plenty of food and choice. We also ordered our sandwiches from the hotel. Lovely bread, both brown and white, with plentiful fillings. A successful trip which we hope to repeat.
I stayed for 3 nights from Friday 11th. |I was a bit worried as I’m not used to staying on my own but I had such a warm welcome I was soon put at ease. |Everyone was really nice and helpful. My room was clean and a really good size. The towels were changed and there were toiletries in the bathroom. There was also tea/coffee making facilities in the room.|On the first evening I had dinner in the onsite restaurant. The food was good and very generous portions, I also had dinner on the last night and again it was really good.|Breakfast was really nice and there was cereal, toast and cooked options. I had a full cooked breakfast which was filling and well cooked. The chef even checked my egg was how I liked it as I asked for it well done. I also had a fresh pot of coffee.|If I stayed in the area again I would definitely come back here.
Easy to find location, large carpark. Friendly staff, Becki made you feel welcome. Rooms are basic but clean, spacious and comfortable. I didn't have an evening meal here but breakfast was good and staff accommodated my request for an early breakfast.
Spent two nights in the hotel. Good sized rooms, well furnished. At a good price. It has everything you expect from a basic hotel.
Owners were very friendly and helpful, which always makes a big difference.
The bar is under going renovation, so soon that will be very nice I'm sure.
We had stayed here 2years ago and it was a pleasant stay. ||We had an evening meal in the restaurant and a few drinks and the breakfast the next day was very good.||However, this time it was quite different, we received an e mail the day before travelling which stated that the restaurant and bar where closed for renovation , had we been told this earlier in the booking we would have gone elsewhere , ( the renovations had been going on for some time as stated by the lady who greeted us upon arrival) , the room was good and clean and comfortable , the breakfast however was not good, the eggs where greasy and very overcooked as where the sausages etc... poor ! ||We won’t be staying again , and felt our booking had been accepted under false pretences due to us not being informed that the bar and restaurant where closed. VERY Disappointed.
Stayed here for 2 nights this week, and found the accommodation to be basic but satisfactory. The owner clearly tries hard to ensure all the essentials are in place. He is very pleasant , polite , courteous and attentive , and made us feel very welcome . The breakfast was excellent .There is ample free parking which is a big bonus , especially if you have a large vehicle or trailer.
Owner was very friendly and polite, sadly the chef was rude and the food was absolutely terrible. Overall accommodation very tired and pretty unpleasant. I wouldn’t stay here again and In fact checked out after one night although I had booked for 2. The fact they had the nerve to charge me £85 for B&B I find utterly astounding. The place looked like an abandoned building and I was the only guest there!
