We had planned to go to a different restaurant but they weren't open yet so we walked down the road a bit. On a whim we stopped into a little gift shop and the woman there recommended Adega. We decided to go on her recommendation and boy are we glad we did! The food was incredible, the service was top notch, the decor and ambiance is amazing. Highly recommended!
Adega Grill is our go-to for special occasions: graduation, birthday, anniversary, etc! The seafood platter is a treat for me and my family of 4! There's enough food for all of us! Tomahawk is a must try, especially to steak lovers out there! Don't forget to order a glass or pitcher of sangria!

Everything was excellent. We had the coal grilled T-bone and the grilled snapper with shrimp and scallops.
The T-bone was perfectly grilled, medium-rare, was a large and tender cut and the portion was generous with sides of potatoes, rice, veggies, a grille pepper and onion rings (the only one that wasn't up to par). If ordering the T-bone, skip the appetizer.
The grilled snapper was also super tasty, perfectly cut. A nice portion but more on the regular size side.
Previously, we had the ribeye and the flank steak, they were also very good but the T-Bone surprisingly is the star there.
Service was excellent.
3 of us, no appetizers, 2 T-bones, 1 snapper, sodas and iced tea: tab was a reasonable $160 with taxes.
After a three-year absence, I recently revisited Adega Grill in Newark, only to find that the restaurant had undergone significant interior changes. While the new look is appealing, I was taken aback by the apparent shift in their target clientele. The imposition of a strict dress code, coupled with nearly doubled prices, suggests a move towards attracting a more affluent customer base.
The service was impeccable, but the exorbitant bill for a party of four, totaling $200, left a sour taste. Sadly, this will likely be my final visit, as the restaurant's new direction seems to prioritize exclusivity over the once-welcoming atmosphere that initially drew me in.
Overall, while the aesthetic updates are commendable, the drastic changes in pricing and atmosphere have diminished the allure of this once-favorite spot.
Wow - what a top notch Portuguese spot. All the best land and sea meals - very traditional, yet with a creative flair. The staff was outstanding and made sure everything was to our liking. Does not get much better than this. Premium.
Came into town for a game, stayed in the Iron bound district. This Portuguese resturant has to be the best in that area. The food was delicious, the service was great. Great value for the price. My only pain point was very dark for these old eyes! I would highly recommend.
