Recently refurbished and lovely restaurant so it’s nice to sit inside. Charming friendly service and generous food for an affordable price. Delicious Ethiopian food, highly recommend! We got the mixed veg and non veg platter.
Last Saturday I went to Abyssinia with a friend. The restaurant is one of the oldest Ethiopian eatery in London. The day being Epiphany holiday, we ordered the festive Kitfo and a vegan mixed platter. Both dishes were excellent and they were prepared to our liking. A traditional herbal tea was the 'cherry on the top' of this whole experience.
Fantastic experience. Great food and welcoming service. Had the mixed platter for two as it was our first time trying Ethiopian cuisine, everything was delicious and the serving size was generous.
Would recommend to everyone.
Went for a vegetarian (also vegan) lunch here the other day. The food was outstanding and the portions were generous. I couldn't finish it all! Also had delicious coffee with the proper traditional ceremony - wonderful. The service was so attentive, warm and friendly, and the environment was quiet and relaxed, perfect for a meeting or date. Would highly recommend this place.
It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and Abyssinia did not disappoint. Definitely recommend the mixed meat platter which had generous portions of food with a ton of variety too. The tasty food was only topped by Mr Taze's service - He had the biggest smile and catered to every need wonderfully. Will be coming back soon
Ethiopian is always the best and Abyssinia is no different. Great service from the lovely owner and I can't understand why it's so unheard of and there are so few people in there! I've taken a few friends and all begged me to go back!

First time eating Abyssinian food, and it won’t be the last. A great culinary experience was had on this visit to this marvellous restaurant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, taking trouble to explain all the dishes, which were extremely tasty. I was unfamiliar with a lot of the flavours. Very pleased to have come here!
