Best KPortal Reviews

The breakfast was absolutely beautiful, good portion sizes and price. Staff were friendly and attentive, will definitely be back
As frequent customers (2 people) to Abby’s cafe in Whitehaven where we have enjoyed numerous meals with very attentive staff.
We were disappointed recently when we entered the cafe to be told by a male assistant that we couldn’t sit at a table that was set for four people as he may need it if a group of more than two came in and directed us to a table next to the toilet.
We have never been told this before by any of the staff who have always directed us to tables set for four people if they were available to have our food and drink.
As we didn’t want to sit near the toilet we left and ate elsewhere.
Is this a new policy for Abby’s.
Avoid if you are working. Nice coffee, the bacon & lentil soup was lovely & most of the staff really good, but I was made to feel unwelcome by member of staff because I needed to work for a couple of hours. Not knowing the area I chose to support an independent cafe not a chain and chose Abby's based on reviews, so I feel I should leave a comment to help others avoid making the same mistake.

Thank you for your reply. I was not in the cafe for more than about 90 minutes as I'd paid for two hours parking and arrived back at the car even after waiting to pay for some time using the card machine; no one's fault, it just wouldn't connect. I did offer to use cash a couple of times to help.
I had said I would order something for lunch when I first came in and asked for a coffee, but wasn't approached until I was asked to leave.
I'd have been happy to share my table if I'd been asked like others were, but no one asked me. There was a group of four who were turned away, but I was at a table for two that was against a wall , so the table wouldn't have worked for them.
Great little cafe! Staff were amazing! Food was served quick and tasty!
Really enjoyed my Lentil and bacon soup with a roll. Very pleasant staff. Purchased a whisky marmalade to take home and it was good too.
1st time in this cafe we ordered 2x English breakfasts which I have stopped doing anywhere else. To my great pleasure they were both HOT! I'll be back! ????
First visit here today as just moved to the area. We both had the breakfast tea cake and it was absolutely amazing, first class sausages, egg bacon etc , very nicely presented and our waitress was so friendly and polite ( sorry we did not get her name )
Great value and it was our first visit of many more to come.
I ordered sandwiches and pie for 60 people from Abby’s, recently for a party. The food arrived on time, with plenty of choices of sandwich fillings, all generously filled. The pie was really tasty too. Abby even arranged to collect chips from a nearby chip shop and these arrived piping hot. I had a lot of positive comments from guests, asking where the food was from. I would definitely recommend Abby’s to anyone looking for a reasonable priced, high quality buffet.
