Saying I need to book 2 separate appointments for a teeth clean. 1 being a checkup and the other being the clean. My teeth are in great condition and this would just be maintenance. My last checkup was 9 months ago, which is fine according to the NHS. Complete waste of time when they could be done together. And the dentist is rude, I wanted to report that a while ago. I will be transferring.
.
I was scheduled to have a deep clean with the use of anaesthesia due to a slight sore area in my gums. This was mentioned to me several weeks ago when I went for a check up and since then the soreness has healed and I informed the dentist of this during my appointment yesterday.
I was experiencing no discomfort in that area and had verbally stated my reluctance but she still insisted on using the anaesthesia, ignoring my individual right to refuse. I felt pressured into it and when I enquired for information about the anaesthesia as she had no intention of involving me in the process, neglecting her duty of care.
I had informed the dentist that I had never used anaesthesia for a deep clean before but I was belittled and during the procedure referred to as ‘little girl.’
I was not informed of any side affects to the anaesthesia or given any other options and felt coerced into using it. My right to choose what I wanted in my dental treatment was ignored.
Throughout the entire procedure she was condescending and proceeded to tell me to be a ‘big girl’ insinuating that I was behaving like a child and using certain language not appropriate to address to another adult in a professional setting.
During the procedure the dentist was asking if I was okay but I was not responding due to feeling light headed and she still proceeded anyways.
She had mentioned before the procedure that if I wanted her to stop at any moment that I should raise my hand. Nearing the end of the procedure I wanted her to stop and had made this known through raising my hands and vocalising my discomfort. The dentist still carried on, informing me she was almost done, once again neglecting her duty of care as I was not treated with dignity and respect.
After the procedure I had said I couldn’t breath, as to what I now understand was due to my lack of knowledge about the anathesia and that it could also affect my nose and make it numb. It had been alarming then and I was not reassured and was ignored by both the dentist and the assistant.
After all of that the dentist continued to belittle and shame me by referring to my queries before the start of the procedure as ‘complaining and whinging’
The dentist was extremely unprofessional, condescending and abused her power and the whole procedure was humiliating and traumatising.
The dentist continued to berate me about about my choice of dental care, once again forgetting the professional boundaries by forcibly questioning my dental choices (in regards to flossing). This is my choice and preference and as a professional she did not respect those boundaries and exhibited multiple behaviours of bad practice.
At 13:17 pm the dentist called me and she had wanted to discuss the procedure and any concerns I had but this should have been done prior and once again pinpoints the lack of professionalism.
I don’t see why people have put really bad reviews about this dentis. I have had a really good experience. The receptionist was very helpful. I was lost, I rung her and she come outside so I can find it, she also helped me bring my pram up. She was very kind and made my experience smooth. The dentis who looked at my teeth I absolutely love her. She made jokes with me, and was very funny. She booked me in to get rid of my Windsom tooth. She also gave me lodes of advice how to get rid of plaque on my teeth. She told me to get these chewable tablets that make your teeth go blue to see where you’re not cleaning teeth properly. She was showing my examination and explaining what’s wrong with my teeth She was very polite my baby was in the room, but when she was taken pictures of my teeth she moved my baby out of the room, she was engaging with my baby. This is by far my best experience with this dentis. This dentis is the one for people who are scared to see a dentis! This dental clinic is the one. As for booking an appointment as a nhs patient it was easy to get one. I rung up on the Monday and they booked me one 4 days later. I love this dental practice thank you for such a good experience! Xx
Terrible Experience! Its absolutely unprofessional to book an appointment 3 weeks in advance with your care provider, only for the practice to call to cancel un apologetically 2 hours to your appointment!! Cancellation reason is because they are overbooked and you can rebook. Well, whose fault is that? Even more frustrating is that they cannot understand why you are unhappy about the outcome! This dentist practice lacks care and therefore terrible in my opinion, I would never recommend them.
Initially, a good service. As a paying NHS registered patient I probably became financially unviable. They applied their procedures to their advantage to de-register me. I am without dentist or dentist referral at a time when it is difficult to get NHS dental treatment. At a time when l am most in need of dental surgery too. Very harsh treatment for such a profession. Then again; the service one gets, depends on the person delivering it.
Had a great experience with this dentist , I’m a very nervous patient and she knew exactly how to calm my nerves
Can't speak highly enough of them. My teeth were in a sorry state and I had 4 sessions within a two well period which fixed them right up. All on the NHS! The staff are all great right through from receptionist to the dentist. Very professional but also very friendly and make you feel at ease
Excellent service provided. I had 2 appointments and was consulted on my treatment plan. The Dentist fixed my teeth and worked with my pain threshold. Professional service from reception through to clinic staff. Very good NHS Service.
